Why when downloading files does a "Adobe Acrobat" folder get created and has no files in it? Can I eliminate the creation of this file?

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble.

That empty “Adobe Acrobat” folder usually appears when you download or open PDFs directly from your browser or email. Acrobat creates this temporary folder as part of its process to manage or cache files, even if no actual files end up being saved there. It’s harmless and can be safely deleted if you’d like.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a built-in setting to completely stop Acrobat from creating that folder — it’s an automatic behavior. However, you can prevent it from showing up repeatedly by:

  • Always saving PDFs manually to a specific location before opening them (instead of opening directly from a browser).
  • Clearing temporary download folders occasionally.

Hope this information will help
