Changes in Acrobat for iPad Pro not saving to original location

Whether I open a pdf from OneDrive or Files (iPad Pro 4th through latest) and make changes such as adding comments and highlighting, the changes are supposed to save automaatically to the original location but they do not, at least not right away. I would have assumed that the "Back" button would save to the original location, but sometimes it's hours later and the changes still have not saved. This is extremely disruptive to my work flow (research and writing) because I have to be able to move seamlessly from iPad (for example when reading and annotating on the go) back to my desktop for the actual writing, and I end having to go through this whole process of saving a copy every time I make changes so I end up with a bunch of files where I only want one. It's really a rare instance of poor designh in Adobe. There should just be a straightforward save button so that i can execute a save, close my iPad and continue on another device.

Im also having the same issue with OneDrive and Adobe acrobat. No problems doing the same with PDF Expert, so this is obviously an adobe problem.

(And by "Back button" I mean the Home icon in the top left corner).

I've tested the issue on my end, and it seems to be working fine. When I tap the top-left button after making annotations in the PDF file, the changes are saved automatically.

 

Is this issue happening with a specific PDF file or with all the PDFs you are working with? Please ensure that the PDF file is stored in Adobe Cloud Storage and not on the device's local storage for a seamless experience across devices.

 

If this issue is file-specific, could you share the problematic PDF file so we can investigate further? Additionally, a short video recording of the steps you are following and the issue occurring would be very helpful.

 

Please also check for any pending updates for the Acrobat Reader mobile application in the App Store, and try updating it. Rebooting the device afterward may resolve the issue as well.
