I would like to insert an image by pressing a button and have it automatically insert an image from my downloads folder.Currently:I have a button field and under action I have it run the following javascript event.target.buttonImportIcon();With this javascript when i click the button it brings open another window where i have to browse for the image file before opening.Is there a way to modify the javascript such that it will automatically open the image file by coding the address of the file?I have tried event.target.buttonImportIcon(":C/Users/..../imagename.pdf") and that did not work.Thanks

As there are no solutions at the Printing & Prepress community, I would like to launch the topic over here.How to set up default printer by page format/page dimensions?For example, I print A6 pdf shipping labels (real A6 pdf format) with a labelprinter. Other A4 pdf documents must be printed by another printer.Now I sometimes forget to change the printer and the last chosen printer isn't always the right choice.Is there an existing method or javascript to set up the default printer, affected by the pdf page format?In that way in my case the default printer will be automatically selected by this unique variable: the page format or page dimensions.Another way might be by the pdf filename, as those files have a certain pattern/structure.

We have a timestamped audio file that has been synchronized/timestamped to a text file.  We are trying to see if we can somehow have each word in a pdf be synchronized to each synched/time stamped audio and if possible select a word or a consecutive string of words and have the pdf either play back the timestamped audio or open a third part to play the audio?If anyone can help i would appreciatePJH

I've created a form with a text field, lets call it Inbd_Data.The text field pulls data from another source and populates it (i.e. the data is dynamic).Example:Name: Bob|Address: 234 Apple St.|Ste 230|(yes, the data is pipe delimited and the field headers will always be the same [that's what I'm trying to bold])I've been trying to write a script that will search the field for certain words and bold them. (i.e. "Name:" and "Address:" would be bold if found in the data).I've seen people suggesting the use of spans but that doesn't seem to work for dynamic data. Any ideas?

When in "Prepare Form" mode in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, is there a way to get the selected field name(s) via JavaScript? I would like the user to be able to select a field (or multiple fields), and then click a custom button under "Add-ons" so that I can bring up my own custom dialog. The downloadable documentation lacks several pages, or at least has several errors in the links.For example, on the page that describes how to create a PDWordFinder object, there's a link to the API reference, but that link is dead.There are also numerous items that simply appears to be missing -- I can't seem to find any real documentation on how the PDDocCreateWordFinderEx function works or how to use a PDWordFinder object at all.

I am creating a PDF form that consists of several yes and no questions (with radio buttons) and I am trying to conditionally require subquestions (if yes is checked).  My question is Group1c, my subquestion is Subgroup1c.  My answer choices for Group1c are Yes and No.  All are radio buttons.  My first question is already marked required, and my subquestion should be conditionally required.  I tried the following code, but it keeps returning an error.  Please advise!  Thank you!var f = this.getField("Group1c");var yes = this.getField("Yes");yes.required = false;if(f.value === "Yes") {Subgroup1c.required = true;}

I have created an Adobe Acrobat form that has a textbox that retrieves the windows logged in user using JavaScript with identity.login. This works fine when the document is opened with the Adobe Reader. I have uploaded the document to our SharePoint Online. The document now opens in the browser in SharePoint Online, but, fails on retrieving the login of the user. How can I make this work?

I know, I know.. this is the JavaScript forum... but, I cannot find out how to start the check box naming at "1" again... I have many check boxes to add to my form, but the automatic field name stars at "Check Box20" (this session) and auto counts up from there. If I rename it to "Check Box1" and then add a new check box, it names the next one "Check Box21" and so on, instead of naming it "Check Box2."I couldn't find anything about this in the Acrobat X pro guide or after several Google searches. This has to be simple to do!!

Hello!I'd like to show or hide a few fields based on the answer given in a previous field.For example if the number in "Total" is 0-9, then Field 1 will appear. If the number in "Total" is 10-19, then Field 2 will appear. I've been hitting me head against the wall for a couple of days now and seem to be getting nowhere fast.I've studied the samples in the SDK and it all seems a bit archaic. There's a whole mess of stuff in those projects that are *very* hard to read and come with no explanation (that I've found); primarily in PIMain.c. If anyone can point to something that would explain the code in that file, I'd be very happy.There's a bit of black magic everywhere and frankly, I can't seem to figure out why the sample compile fine while my projects don't.I've tried to doing a simple copy of the Starter sample and adding the missing files that it keeps references to; no luck.

I have a new computer with Word 2016 and acrobat XI.   When I change the printer on a Word document to print as a pdf, the page breaks change.  As a result, I can't make easily make the pdf and word versions be the same.   Is there a fix for this?Thanks.

I've download and installed the SDK.  Where is the documentation for the SDK?  I'm looking for latest documentation regarding IAC.where's the iac_api_reference.pdf?  where's the iac_developer_guild.pdf?any other pdfs?  What kind of crap sdk is this?  Adobe should be ashamed for even allowing this crap SDK to be downloaded from it's website.  CLEAN UP THE SDK and make it useful.

Hi,I have been researching how to reference fields on spawned pages and have managed to successfully calculate values etc when the fields are on the same spawned page (using the split method based on "."). However, I'm having difficulty getting values from fields that are on separate pages, spawned from a different templates. Hopefully I can present the issue in a logical way....here goes:I have 6 template pages which are spawned from a single user click of a button. These always spawn in order (1 - 6). On the first spawn these are prefixed P1 - P6 as I have a static title page which takes the place of P0. On the second spawn these would then be P7-P12.The first three templates are named PreSurvey1, PreSurvey2 and PreSurvey3.The final three templates are named PostSurvey1, PostSurvey2 and PostSurvey3So, on the first spawn I get P1.PreSurvey1, P2.PreSurvey2, P3.PreSurvey3, P4.PostSurvey1, P5.PostSurvey2 and P6.PostSurvey3. A number of text fields are present on each of these templates.

I know next to nothing about coding. Here's my scenario: I have a set of 29 options with drop down selections of Level 1, 2, 3, or 4. I want to input selection rules so that out of the 29, someone can only select the "Level 1" option a maximum of 7 times.
