Is there any way to force a layer in an Acrobat form to appear over top of a field? It seems like the structure of an Acrobat form is that all fields appear over top of all image layers. I want to create an instruction layer that appear when a button is clicked. I've positioned the instructions where they do not overlap the field and can be read as the user fills in the field. Of course, when fields are highlighted, other fields obscure the instructions. There are many fields on the form and the instructions are fairly extensive, so there is no space large enough where no fields would overlap. I'd considered turning off highlighting for the user but that highlighting does help the user to know which of the fields they need to complete. I'd also considered a solution involving multiple pages with separate fields which poplulate a page with the complete form but that just seems cumbersome. Any thoughts and ideas are welcome and appreciated.

I am having issues with a calculated dropdown box. The dropdown box (D2) is being calculated based off of the value of another dropdown (D1) on my form. For example, if D1 = "View Only" then the options in D2 should be "Does Not Need View Only" or "Needs View Only". I have been able to accomplish this via a calculated javascript (below for reference). However; my issue is when I make my selection in D2 and I click away from the dropdown box it automatically defaults to the top of the list (i.e. If I select "Needs View Only" in the drop down and click away it will jump back up to "Does Not Need View Only"). I am pretty sure it is an issue with one of the properties of the dropdown but cannot figure out which one. I have played around with the Sort items and Commit after selected flag on the options tab of the properties with no help. If needed I can send screenshots of my current configuration of the dropdown properties. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Javascript &

Hello: I would like to have a popup menu display listing various menu options when selecting a comment.  I have the popup menu working fine - what I cannot figure out is how to use a Mouse Up or other process to lanuch the popup menu after selecting the existing comment.  It would be greatly appreciated if someone could point me in the general direction of how to accomplish this. Or, alternatively is it possible to add to the existing right-click menu that displays when right-clicking on a comment? Thanks in advance,Nick

I'm creating a PDF form using Acrobat DC. The form has five checkboxes for tests available from Laboratory A and 18 checkboxes for tests available from Laboratory B. I'm looking for a way that I can have a checkbox for Laboratory A (LabA_CB) automatically select when one or more of the available tests at Laboratory A is selected, and a second checkbox for Laboratory B (LabB_CB) automatically select when one or more of the available tests at Laboratory B is selected.However, I also need the Laboratory A and B checkboxes to deselect if all of the associated tests for that lab are deselected. The code I've tried so far either does not deselect the Laboratory A and B checkboxes even if all associated test checkboxes are deselected, or it deselects the Laboratory A and B checkboxes each time one of the associated tests is deselected even if other associated tests remain selected. Hello, I have a PDF with 20 options and each option gives the user to personalize the option. I am going to use javascript to populate a receipt based on the options selected. Most will select a few options but if someone wants all 20 options, I will run out of room on a single page to list out the details. Can someone point me in the right direction to spawn a new template automatically?

I've set up a form in InDesign CC, with interactive fields. I've exported it and opened it in Adobe Acrobat and it works fine. The only problem is that I want to change the font in the interactive text fields to Arial rather than Times New Roman. How can I do this?

Had to reformat Hard Drive with Windows 7 Pro.  Tried to reinstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro by going to my account and obtaining serial number.  Then downloaded AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.exe to install.  When prompted to enter serial number, I entered serial number from my account history.  Message indicated that the serial number was invalid.  "This is not a valid serial number.  Tried entering serial number (24 numeric) with both hyphens and no hyphens.  No go!  Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Cleaner from previous suggestion and ran that, rebooted and still - error message received regarding invalid serial number.  What additional steps, if any, can be done to reinstall XI Pro?

Hello,I am using regular expressions with the "search & remove text" feature in Acrobat X Pro by editing the file SearchRedactPatterns.xml, as can be learned here: http://blogs.adobe.com/acrolaw/2011/05/creating_and_using_custom_redact/I noticed, however, that my custom queries are always treated case-insensitive in Adobe, which they should not be. At least according to various online regex testers.So, is there a way to tell Acrobat to make the Regex case-sensitive?Thanks in advance

I want to achieve something like this :Document to have 2 list boxes  one filled with options and other empty and along with 1 button (add.)..I should be able to select multiple option from 1st list box and then press Add button and it will populate all the options from list box1 to list box2 all at once. Currently i have found a file on internet which does the same. but it add 1 option at a time.... when it select multiple options in the 1st listbox.. the add button doesnot work. Plz guide .. Thanks

Hello, I am building a presentation in Acrobat and I need to be able to send form data to create an Event in Google Calendar. Everything I see says that I would need to create an API account within the developer tools of Google to actiavte the API Key. However, the users of this presentation will not be able to accomplish that task. I was hoping someone has a solution that would ask permission, similar to how this.mailDoc asks permission to send an email through Adobe without configuring Google API. Thank you.

I need to disable all navigation tools so the user is forced to navigate with buttons. ClickAdvances I see how to turn off. I also don't want them to be able to use the keyboard, mouse scroll or anything else until the page they are on has been validated and submitted. 

Hi experts, I'm scripting a plug-in which is basically a SelectionServer tool called by "My ToolButton". However, it would help me enormously if I can add "My ToolButton" to the floating quick action toolbar that appears when a text is selected. Hi,I have a signed PDF-Form "file1" that I need to mergend into another PDF "file2" that is also going to be signed later in the process. I don't need the real signatures of file1 in file2 (that doesn't work either because merging a signed PDF deletes the signatures), it suffices to preserve the signatures as textobjects in file2 (The result I'd like to have is exactly the result I get when I print file1 as a PDF (e.g. with printer "Adobe PDF"). Hereby the signatures will be obtained as texts in the printed PDF.).So I claim to have to adjust file1 before merging to file2. Because I need this for about 100x a month, it should work with a javascript-button (folder level). For adjusting file1 I had two approaches, both don't work: Approach 1: Print as PDF via javascriptI found out that there is no way to print as PDF via Javascript. Is that true? Somehow like the printparams.filename does not work with a printer that opens a save dialog on its own. Is there any other possibility

I would like to find a way to post mutiple data in fields. I would like the fields to be "Name", "Date of Birth" and "Student#".  I would also like a button to press to save this data on the PDF form.  Then I would like the Name to appear in the "Name" dropdown box and when I select the name from the dropdown menu, two other fields for "Date of Birth" and another field "Student#" would auto populate based upon the data that was orginally inputted. I have been playing around and I cannot get it to work.

So, the title of my thread is very straight forward and that's what I am after... a piece of JS code that ensures me that the document IS in Reader.The reason is because I have a set of PDF documents stuffed with a lot of JS and that just get stuck when the user's browser opens it in a tab instead to download it.I kind of worked it around by adding the HTML5 property 'download' at my links declaration to force the download, however I know that not all browser versions recognizes it so once in a while I still will have someone staring to a broken document into a browser tab.I would appreciate immensely if someone could tell me if it does exist such JS code that may help me with this detection.Thanks!
