Question

Why aren,t these my watercolor- style paintings of mine, creates in Procreate, getting approved?

I’ve submitted quite a few watercolor paintings, but some were accepted while others were rejected. I’d really like to know the reasons for the rejections. I’ve been creating this kind of work for about two years now, yet many pieces still don't make the cut. I’m genuinely wondering what the real reason is.

Very nice images. I hope you can fix them up for stock?    🙂

The handling of the transparency edges in the PNG file is sloppy.
Submissions will be rejected if there is any bleed-over or if parts are cut off.

This post belongs in the dedicated Contributors forum below where we discuss the submission requirements & provide feedback on refusals.

IMO, the paper texture & jagged edges are holding you back. Try switching to smoother hot press paper with less texture. Also consider submitting ink & wash for sharper edges. Just a suggestion. Stock customers are looking for highest quality artwork to use in commercial print projects.

Also, PNG is for images containing transparency only.

Scanned drawings or paintings should be submitted as high-res, sRGB color JPEGs.

Refer to your Contributor User Guide’s illustration submission requirements below. The User Guide was revised in June & some requirements have changed.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you very much. I’m starting to understand now. I’ll go back and revise my work before submitting it for sale next time.

You are submitting them as pixel images and not autotracing them, right? Because just in case you are autotracing them, it might be a reason for rejection.

I sell images using PNG files; I don't convert the images into pixels as you described.🤔

All scanned images are pixel-based rasters (bitmaps).

Math-based vector shapes are created in Illustrator or Inkscape with digitally drawn or hand traced paths & anchor points.  Unlike pixel-based PNG or JPEG files, vectors can be scaled up or down to any size that’s required without quality loss. The edges always remain sharp & crisp at any size. This makes vectors the preferred choice for print & motion graphic designs.

Stock’s 7-part vector requirements begin here:

@Patta_Dee3331 I suppose you are talking about Adobe Stock, you may want to post it there:

    instead of the Illustrator forum.
