The website said they were rejected for quality issues. is it the overall sharpness? or Too shallow focus? how do you test your photo sharpness before uploading? grateful for any help as to what I can do to improve.

Hello,

Focus, your depth of field is too shallow.

White balance could be one of the reasons for the skyscraper, as well as converging lines.

It has a bit of a yellow cast.

The image is out of focus or blurry

Please remove any text such as logos and brand names before submitting the photos.
However, if you are photographing a commercial facility, you will also need a property release, so you will need to confirm that the location can be registered as a commercial photograph.

The logo is visible.

Noise is noticeable.

Compare your work with available inventory. To get accepted, your work must stand out from what Stock is selling now. That's hard to do in fiercely competitive categories like leaves & sunsets.

https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=ferris+wheel  200K results

https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=orange+leaf  10 Million results

https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=orange+sunset 6.7 Million results

Stock customers expect the highest visual & technical quality as well as uniqueness for use in commercial projects.  Read your Contributor User Guide for more tips.

Hope that helps.

DSC07695.JPG - underexposed

DSC07626.JPG - the name "Navy Pier" should have resulted in an IP rejection

DSC01513.JPG - DOF is too shallow; since the leaf is the focal point of the image it should have been completely in focus

In order to review sharpness on your images, zoom in at least 100%, and inspect all areas of the frame. Viewing at standard size, particularly on a small monitor, can give you a false sense that the image is sharp.
