Question

After Effects Rendering

Hello,

I'm editing a 2d intro in after effects and every time I make a slight edit, it starts going into ultra slow motion. I know this is because it has to render, but every single time I tweak something? I'm sure there's a fix with pre-rendering somehow. Any tips?

Thanks,

Jake

well, you have an extruded text there, haven't you? That's all there is to say. Those functions are extremely resource hungry and inevitably will slow things down. Other than that there isn't realyl much to see that should cause severe slowdowns, so turn off the text layer with the extrusion while editing your other stuff to improve interactivity.

No offense, but huh? Sorry, this is useless. You have not offered any info on your computer, the contents of the project, what your "edits" are and so on. Therefore it will be impossible for anyone to gauge whether this is normal AE behavior or some performnce dgradation due to lack of resources, bugs, an inadequate configuration, hardware acceleration issues, slow cache disks and whatnot. See? There's a million things to consider here. You have to be much more specific.

Sorry 😕😕

PC Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600x

GTX 1660 Super
CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB 3200Mhz

1TB Western Digital SN550

MSI B550-A Pro

I got a 2D Intro shape pack and used a couple of the things items: Donuts, Splines (just random things from the pack). It might be because of all the shapes and media files in the project (excuse if thats obvious), but my specs are pretty decent so I thought it might be good.

My project is set to 60fps and 1080p. Preview quality at 1/4 is the same.

Looking back on it, I shouldn't have made this forum post. I think it's pretty obvious the issue here. If you see anything or have any more questions, please tell me.
