hello, this is a newbie question but I would appreciate some help'

I am working on an AE file on my work computer however I have a deadline and i will need to work over the weekend, can I send this AE file through mail without everything disappearing and stuff? Both my work computer home laptop have AE CC 2018, so there shouldnt be any problem opening the files.

I currently dont have a usb with me, so if there is anyway i can transfer my files that would be great!

    Hello,

Adobe CC provides a cloud storage of 100GB per account. You get access to Creative Cloud Files folder in your local PC and copy everything into it. You log-in with your Adobe ID in your another PC and get access to the same folder. Please do not forget that Internet connection is always required.

Ensure you Collect Files (File > Dependencies > Collect Files). Then transfer over the resultant folder, from the Collect Files routine.

3rd party thingies such as fonts, plugins, scripts etc will not be collected - keep this in mind.

As has been stated AE project files only contain references to the original footage used in the comp. Any video, still images, basically anything you have imported into AE will have to be moved to the other computer. To avoid searching for the footage either use the collect files option to transfer everything to a portable drive, put everything in Dropbox or some other shared storage, use the Adobe Cloud, only works if you have the same Adobe ID at home that you have at work or you have created a team project.

By far the easiest thing to do is Collect files, complete instructions are found in the help files by typing collect files in the Search Help field at the top right corner of AE and saving the project to a portable hard drive. If you have an external SSD you will not have any problems working directly on the external drive.
