How to Fix After Effects CS4 error

I can't click any button and open the new project, how to fix this error, please help, thanks!!

after effect error: preference [Most Recently Used (MRU) Pref Section (mac)] 'MRU Favorite Effects Path ID # 15, File Path' is 1312956 bytes, max allowed is 259 bytes.

You are using an hopelessly outdated software on a operating system it was never designed for. Whatever issues you have are pretty much your own. There may be some way to improve compatibility with the underlying emulation to make it work with complex Unicode file paths, but that's really nothing related to AE and a question you'll likely get better answers on a nerdy Mac forum.
