LHS is a  screen shot of a video. I want to bend the legs like in the second image. Is it possible? I tried with puppet tool but found that background also moves as well. Video is attach as well. How to do it?   Abs workout 

After i have finished all the project i found that my laptop is very slow so i saved the aftereffects project to don't lose my work and restarted my laptop so when i tried to open the after effects file to export the project this message has appeared to me , my laptop is dell windows 10 and i have tried importing it in a new project but unfortunately same message appeared , can anyone help me please ? Hello,Please Help Me😓🙏I recently completed a video editing project in After Effects. However, after finishing,the application unexpectedly crashed. When I reopened After Effects, the project file (.aep) wouldn't open,and I received a warning that it is in a "bad format or not readable." Could you please help me with a solution?

I bought my 2023 Apple M2 Pro Macbook in october of last year. I downloaded after effects and installed third party plugins such as MBL, BCC, SAPPHIRE, TWIXTOR.   And After effects would run fine for almost a year, no crashes on exporting or while editing. But this month it keeps crashing due to faulty plugins and I don't understand. Becuase my Macbook was running these third party plugins fine but now it crashes constantly and I don't know how to fix it. 

Documnetation says hold the ctl key and use the scroll wheel to change the rotoscope brush size, but instead it just zooms in and out of the video. What is the fix? 

Hello, I am trying to make a few presets and i need to save the names as a property. Slider's effect nameShape nameText name This is a print of my expressions and the reason i need to save the shape layers and text layers NAMES in my presets.   I have felt the same need in other exemples but i share this one because i think it's a good one.  Can someone please tel me if that is possible to be made and how ?Thank youIsabel

I have a QuickTime video with transparency, but when it's imported into After Effects on my MacBook, the transparency doesn't show. Has anyone come across this? I would appreciate your feedback

Hola! llevo algunos días lidiando con un problema al exportar en after effects un video. Al trabajar en After Effects, observo que la previsualización del video está en los colores correctos, pero a la hora de exportarlo en Media Encoder, los colores no coinciden.  El archivo está diseñado en Ilustrator, el perfil de color del archivo lo tengo en ADOBE RGB (1998). En los ajustes de proyecto de AE lo tengo configurado el espacio de color en ADOBE RGB (1998)Agradezco la ayuda!  

hey.  I'm experimenting with rotoscoping for the first time.  I know there's a little green in it, but my question is - how come i'm only seeing a small portion (square) of the full video size?  I'm sure this is a Newbie display question so thanks in advance 🙂

Hi,I'm encountering an issue with the latest version of After Effects on Windows. When I attempt to launch the application, nothing appears on the screen—no splash screen or loading screen. However, when I check the Task Manager, I can see that After Effects is running, but there is no user interface or any indication that the program has actually launched.I've tried waiting, but the application never opens fully. I haven't received any error messages or prompts.Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

For about a month or so, sporadically AE will take video footage and render a few frames as negative, inverted frames. When watching the playback, if you blink you can miss it, but the it's definitely there. The way to resolve it is to delete the footage/asset, save the project, close AE, and then re-open AE, re-import the footage, insert the footage where it's needed, and then wait until the cache is completely rendered. It didn't do this before, and this wastes a lot of time. Thoughts?

hey all.  I've been deeply inspired by the styles of motion comic creation on YouTube.  I'm wanting to create a motion comic, with the panning zooming in and out on the panels in a dynamic way, and wondering about a workflow on that.  Does anyone have any experience in this? 

Hi! Simple question, and I can't find the answer anywhere. I have set work area points (default keybinds are "b" and "n") so that the AE will only render frames in that small area to expediate editing. But, it's ignoring them, and instead rendering the WHOLE comp, which is making editing slow to a crawl. Is there a setting that I managed to tweak that's doing this? Thanks!Edit: I've gone into the Preview window and set the Range to "Work Area."

Hi, I dnt understand something, After googling much I learn I can scale a comp using an inbuilt script called ' ''scale comp" , but no way I can make it exactly 1920×1080.  Either, it changes both (H and W) into 1920 or 1080! I can't believe there will not be a way for me to change a comp from 1080×1080 into 1920x1080 without doing it manually!! 😮 Too many layers, too many comps. I dnt wanna do it from square again! Looked for scripts to buy, but they want me to null all layers individually! crazy! Please I need help.

I'm trying to trigger animations in the position property of one layer using markers on another layer, but the expression keeps returning an error: "Undefined value used in expression (could be an out of range array subscript?)". Weirdly, the error just disappears every now and then until I hover over the timeline again. This error occurs in the first line of code, even when that line is commented out or when I delete the line. For reference, I just updated to v 24.6.2, but even when I rolled back to 24.6.1 the error occurred. If I end the expression with a fixed-value array, such as [5,5], the error disappears, but of course this makes my code redundant. The expression: /* 2 states: (1) Normal, for when in left or right view, and (2) Wide, for center view. */ /* This layer will ease() between Normal & Wide for the center values of the master controller layer. */ /* Variables */ control = thisComp.layer("BG_PosControl"); normal = [517, 0]; wide = [-639.5355, 0]; fade

Renders from After Effects are stamped with a date thats days in the future. Creates a real headache for production. Not good for our version tracking. This issue affects multiple artists on our team, using many different version of After Effects (2020 nd 2019). Its not a local issue. Please advise. Thanks for any help on this issue

I'm currently trying to toubleshoot the Camera Tracker not working in AE 24.6.2 on a Mac running Sonoma 14.6.1, and I came across a post about checking the premissions settings. In that post it said to navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore, except I don't have that folder. So I guess my questions are:1) Is this old info and does this folder not exist because it's no longer part of install?2) If in fact this folder IS supposed to be there, why don't I have it? What can I do to resovle this? And is this the cause to my issues with Camera Tracker?

I am trying to render a video with an effect that I made. I used fill color to switch colors every frame.But for some reason it doesn't render properly. I have done this effect before and it worked perfectly fine. But now for some reason it doesn't. Can anyone help me out with this? I have put the examples in the attachements.

Hello,    I have a fire effect.  I want to light the surrounding area to match the fire color as it burns/flickers. How can I do this please?  Is there a way to pick a point on the footage and tint the surrounding area to match as the color changes?

Dear all. I have a 4K composition like below But whenever i change the resolution from 4k to HD, it is cropped.I always change resolution by using Composition settings dialog box.Is it possible to automatically fit to the composition resolution without croped?? Thanks.

I'm writing a script that I'd like to validate that a piece of footage has been selected and do something based on that selection. However, I want to make sure that it's clear that the script is based on a single selected piece of footage. I'm trying to validate that a selection of ONE piece of footage is made, and write an alert message if there is "no selection" and if there are "too many selections". What logic block do I use to see if a footage file is selected? Cause this ain't it.
