Question

Some character of fonts not displaying correctly.

Sometimes certain characters won't work in After Effects, and are changed into Myriad Pro. In the example, the letter capital "L" won't work, but will work perfectly well in Photoshop and Illustrator. In other fonts other letters won't work. Sometimes a letter will work in one AE project but not in another.

This bug is insane. Out of all the fonts and all the characters, I'm just unable to use uppercase letter "K" in Mulish Bold or Mulish Black fonts. The font works perfectly fine on other Adobe apps.

That's strange!

Does After Effects change the font or only the font family? Is it happening with a specific font or any font you choose? I'd like to test your project file on my end. Feel free to share via DM.

We're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

I'm excited for this question to be answered, because I've been having the same issue. Certain letters, T or w will be set to Myriad pro. If I highlight them individually and set the font back to what I want, it may stay the light version of that typeface.

Yes! This is exactly what I've been experiencing. And sometimes, certain capital letters will be set to Myriad when using the All Caps mode, but if the mode is turned off, you can "manually" write capital letters in the original font.

Do you mind letting us know more details? Is this happening with all the fonts? Could you share a screen recording that shows the problem?

Thanks,

Nishu

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
