Transparent Background

Hello everyone. I have an issue where everytime I start up a new comp, the beginning screen will be transparent. I tried everything to change it back to black or any other color, but I haven't found anything. Whenever the comp settings pop up, the background color doesn't do anything and the background remains transparent. Any help would be much appreciated.

You should also be aware that the comp background color does not render to most formats. If you want to see a colored background in your final render it is always a good idea to add a colored solid to the comp panel so the Alpha channel is all white. There is almost never a reason to change the Comp Background Color in the Composition settings. Only experts creating graphics that need pre-multiplied with Alpha renders should consider it.

I though of adding this, but who is asking such a thing is going to render right into H.264 anyways.

As long as you don't put any layer in the comp, it is always transparent. There is a switch in comp view to show actual transparency. If it's on, you always start with a transparent comp, if it's off, you see the comp background color.

Wow, I can't believe it was that easy. I'm kind of embarassed by it since I believed it would be more out there. Thank you so much for the help, I'll make sure to rememeber that. Have a great day 🙂
