Questions

I've got a long project, almost 7500 frames and a little over 5 minutes. Big. I finished it and exported it as a .mov, but only the first three minutes are being exported. The video just ends right then and there. It might be a bug considering I just updated to the most recent version today, but I figured I'd check.

Hi, I have a symbol (movie clip) that I've duplicated in the library. When I edit that symbol in the library, or on the stage, it changes (makes the same edits to) the original symbol, i.e., the symbol on which the duplicate is based. Am I missing something here? What's the point of duplicating symbols if what happens to one symbol happens to its duplicate? All I'm trying to do here is use the same movie clip twice, but change them slightly. There are multiple animated textboxes that pop out when the corresponding buttons are pressed. I want to change the text on each, but keep the overall animation the same. Take a look at the attached animate file. Sorry if it's a mess. I'm still learning to work efficiently, which I assume involves using animations multiple times when possible, instead of animating everything individually every time. One thing I've noticed while trying to export my animations is that the layer effects that I applied to certain layers, like multiply or overlay, are in full effect inside of the program. But when I exported the animation, it somehow defaulted back to normal effect. I don't know if my publish settings are wrong or I'm missing something, any help would be good!

Hello, I was wondering if Adobe has any plans to improve the “new” features in Animate, such as the warp tools and layer parenting. These would be great tools if they were more reliable. I really like the way the warp tool works and would use it more if it didn’t have bugs, such as disappearing when closing and reopening the file, conflicts with other warp objects, and other issues.I think the best news for Animate users would be if these tools worked at least reasonably well.

I created a folder that has more then 12 layers. I did merge the layers to a 1 layer. When i put warp handles on that layer, parts of the layer become invisible. You need that much layers to create a human. I got to be able to merge the layers with no glitch. I am not going to create the character from beginning as 1 layer. How do i do so the layer doesn't glitch?

Hi everyone! I'm very new to coding and JS but I'm trying, I'm trying like mofo to understand this beautiful madness! My newest pain is attempting to make the "mousdown" event to move my MC constantly intead of just once. This is what I got- this.button.addEventListener("mousedown", fl_MouseDownHandler_23.bind(this));function fl_MouseDownHandler_23() {this.ball.y += 15;} I'm trying to have it so that when I hold the mouse down on my button, it will keep moving the ball object on the y axis continuesly. Right now it does it just once. I've tried like a madman to figure this out but, no luck. Can anyone help with this please? Many bows on gratitude and respect in advance!

Hello! I'm working on an animated, interactive infographic in an HTML5 canvas document. I have a series of buttons that I intend to make open and close a corresponding series of infoboxes. This I've figured out how to do already; they work fine. What I'm hoping to do now is make certain parts of the text within these infoboxes link to web pages. The idea is simple: click a button, infobox above button appears, click text within infobox, you're taken to website. When I apply "Click to Go to Web Page" from the "Code Snippets" panel to the specific piece of text I want to make into a link, the browser displays nothing when I execute "Control > Test". I thought there was something I did the application didn't like, something to do with how I have things nested, etc. However, it seems the problem is way more simple than that. Before adding the Go to Web Page code snippet, the test works fine. I try adding a simple shape in Scene 1, at the top of the hierarchy, and apply the Go to Web Pag

I can hear the music when I play it in Animate. But when I export, nothing. To go around chromes security I added a play button. But still nothing. Thanks in advance!  

Hey, I wanted to know if there was a way to make a quick one-step or single click animation for a project I'm working on In the screenshots I've attached, I want to make a very simple animation. The cat simply nods its head to the side and back. I have already created the required keyframes. I was going to do a frame-by-frame modification manually but since it's part of a bigger project I was hoping there was a much faster way. I have tried Shape tween and classic tween but neither give the results I need.Thanks in advance!     

The fill tool doesn't work, I chose large gaps, made sure I'm not in a drawing object and the drawing is in one layer. Can someone please help me? 

Okay Ive got this project im redoing, I did it easly about a year ago. Its a simple proces, and it begins by importing a video form my phone into Animate for playback only. However I keep getting an error. I know a .mov file cant be used for this, so I converted it to an H.264 viedo using Adobe Media Converter. Ive tried so many differnet setting for the convertion, but all of them give me errors? Now for the technical details.Im on Mac,OS Version 10.15.7Procceser 2.3 GHz Quad-Core intel Core i7Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3Graphics intel HD Graphics 4000 1636 MBAm I experancing this error due to my computer being out of date? Or is there another reason? I'd appersate any advice or help. 

Hello All,I am trying to export my AS3 movie in Animate to an MP4 video via the File>Export>Export to Video/Media link. I have the settings at Format: MPEG4 and Preset: Default (AME). Via other threads I have AME Renderer set to: Mercury Playback Engine Software Only. About my .FLAI have 1 scene with 10 frames, each frame has a MovieClip and the top layer has stop(); on each frame. Within each MovieClip, the last frame as AS3 telling the playhead to move to the parent scene, next frame (e.g., MovieClip(parent).gotoAndPlay(2);) There are audio files playing in each MC as well. The total length of the .FLA when saved as a .SWF or an .EXE is about 35mins and works great. When I try to export to an MPEG 4 however, I end up getting a 5 second MP4 video with a static image of my .FLA background and I don't get any errors in the compiler.  I have tried a few different things such as exporting to Quicktime, etc. but the exports are only 5 seconds long. Any help would

Hello! I started learning adobe animate some time ago and have a problem with layers. When I create more than one layer, the programm shows me only figures drawn on the top layer. If anything is drawn on the other layer, it won't be shown. Could you help me to solve this problem? 

So I will start by saying my project is a pretty big project, being 415 MB currently. I've been working on it for about 7 years. It takes adobe animate about 4 minutes to open the FLA file and 9 minutes to publish or open in debug mode. The problem im having is when I try to run debug mode it causes the project to run with a much slower FPS then what I have it set to which is 60. The published swf file will run at 60 FPS and I also have adobe flash CS6 and it runs debug mode just fine in 60 FPS. Not sure why this is happening but it's very annoying when I have to debug an issue in like 30FPS or slower.    [Mod note: Moved to appropriate forum.]

Yo estaba queriendo agregar bordes a un personaje, pero me olvidé que los había borrado y no tengo forma de poner los bordes de vuelta. No puedo hacer CTRL+Z, y no tengo muchos conocimientos de Animate.

 so i tried making a little text animation by breaking apart and making some text into a symbol; so i could individually move each one inside the symbol. all looked good until i exported it so make sure all the timing on the video was correct, but i noticed this weird glitch where it sort of keeps a little snippet from the previous frame of the text? im not sure how this happened or how to fix it.keep in mind im still relatively new to animate and never properly learned, just kind of figured it out on my own so i apologise if this has a super easy fix. any pointers would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Hello! I am trying to create an infographic that will be animated/interactive and ultimately will be used in HTML5 format. I am trying to animate people within this infographic using layer parenting like in this tutorial. In my Animate file after importing the Illustrator file to the stage, it says "parenting is not supported in this file type".  1. Which is the best file type to use for animating people/characters?2. Is layer parenting the best tool to use?3. Should I create in one file type and convert to HTML5 after creating the animation? Secondly, when I use the "Asset Warp Tool" pin to animate, it changes the focus and blurs the image (see attached: arm is blurred). Is there a way to avoid it blurring the file? Thanks,Samantha

Hi guys,I have a problem when I export my animation to GIF format.So, I click "Export" -> "Export animated GIF" and want to change some parameters before save. For example, I choose parameter "Selective" and then all parameters just disappear. And this happens with all animations I make. Can be any solutions for this?

I have an html5 canvas and I want to import a video into one of the frames. The video is also an html 5 canvas, so the published product also has the html doc, the swf, and the image folder. Is this possible? But first, when I click File, Import, and see the choices....import to stage, import to library, open external library, import video....the last one, "import video" is grayed, indicating that it doesn't work....what's the problem? Thanks in advance

Pressing the left and right arrow keys isn't making the red timeline thingy move at all. Clicking and dragging it still works, but the audio is so stuttery it might as well be tv static. and the play button is just fine, but it's frustrating and not very efficient having to put every section of the audio on loop trying to pause at just the right moment. I checked the keyboard shortcuts. It seems like the , and . keys work to move forward and back frames but the audio doesn't scrub at all when I use them. The arrow keys were working just fine a minute ago when I made the file. I saved and closed it to go make lunch, (and didn't do anything else to it) and when I opened it again suddenly the arrow keys wouldn't work. And this isn't an issue with just the audio not scrubbing, the arrow keys aren't moving anything on the drawing layer either. Maybe the keys are jammed and the program is fine, but considering things were going perfect just an hour ago I doubt that's it. Sorry, I'm probably

So everytime I want to open this asset file that I have downloaded it says "an error occurred opening file" Which I have already used winrar and tried deleting everthing in configuration but it doesnt work can somebody help me?

whenever I am drawing, if the line i am drawing connects to another line, which I had already drawn, once i lift my pen up, it disappears. for example, I would be drawing a table, and when i try to draw the leg of the table, once the line connects, it disappares. 

It seems very normal on the frames, and works so well, but when exported, background ground part suddenly disappears ;-; I tried to make new layers and make another ground part, but it shows about 1 seconds and still only this part disappears...How can I solve this problem?
