Questions

I have existing characters, see attached image. What is the best way to work with them in Animate? Import them as .psd or .ai? Or redraw them in Animate? - thanks, Mark K

I'm converting a project that I built many years ago in Macromedia Director into Animate HTML5. One of the scenes contains a humorous stock market that rapidly rotates the cost of the stock between graphic numbers 28, 29, 30, and 32 (no 31 for some reason - I can't remember why). There are 3 buttons: 1 share, 10 shares and 1,000 shares. When you click one of the buttons the amount that is currently displayed is used to calculate the total. And the current total is displayed in a number of shares field and a dollar field.  First of all can you display a number on the stage in a white box (field) named "total" in Animate without it having to be a graphic? Second question, is how do I re-write this code for HtML5? on Price if the mouseCast = the number of member "Price28" then put field "Stock28" into newNumber set the floatPrecision to 2 put field "Total" into oldNumber put value (newNumber) + value (oldNumber) + .001 into field "Total"

When using the classic brush tool the stroke is lagging and takes time to render.

Hi, I'm really new to flash and I have just completed an animation.  I would like to add a play button at the beginning of the animation that plays the whole thing through.  My buttons name is playbutton_btn and all the animation starts on frame 2 (frame one is a blank frame in all layers but the actionscript on the button.)  here is the code I have so far (in the first frame of the animation.stop();playbutton_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playit);function playit(event:MouseEvent):void {    gotoAndPlay(2);}This is in the hope that it will stop when played and prompt the viewer with the play button screen and when clicked play the animation through to the finish.I get the error:1120: Access of undefined property playbutton_btn.If anyone could give me a hand or point me in the right direction that would be great:).Cheers.

Hi, So I am currently animating a short animation - there is a problem with SWF exporting it. In this image in the workspace, I have the glow effect set as X: 255 and Y: 0. However, it is not appearing as it should be in the SWF export. The same is said for all the other filters in the animation when looking at the final SWF - the filters are way too big or small for what i've set them to. Some of them don't even appear at all. How to fix this? I restarted the application and even went back and deleted and readded all the filters. Plz tell me a solution anyone.

Is it possible to invert a mask in Animate? See attached screen shot. I want to make gold rule visible on the outside of the box used to mask the layer. I've been looking everywhere and haven't been able to find a definitive technique. Thanks! 

I'm unable to change the brush size hotkey to Alt+RightClick+Drag, for me this makes Animate nearly unusable, going to look into alternative softwares.

When the application is run, and goes to full screen, the external video is displayed on top of all the elements, covering everything, and never returns to the original size, and does not leave the full screen, forcing the application to close.I have tried it with small mp4 videos, and with the latest version of Animate and the same problem occurs.

This seems to happen to me a lot. It's a bit different this time. I have Windowsink enabled on both animate and my tablet (Gaomon) and once I begin drawing in the frame, the strokes simply do not show up. They do not process or appear, even after several seconds. It's only after the several attempt to draw a line that it finally allows me. Then I have to redo the process all over again. Wintab is 80x worse as yes, it allows me to draw lines immediately, but it doesn't draw right at all. It somewhat glitches. So I can't use Wintab.I've tried disabling WindowsInk on only my Gaomon, allowing WindowsInk on Adobe Animate, but then it completely removes my pen pressure. And I need pen pressure.I am not using windows scaling, and my tablet is up to date, and once again - this issue is only happening in Animate. In Medibang and other apps, there's no issue at all. Any help is super appreciated.

Hey guys, I've a question. In my project I created a character and converted him to movie-clip symbol (main-timeline). Then I divided the char in different parts: head, body, arms, etc... Every part is a picture symbol, while the head  is a movie-clip symbol (second-timeline) with inside other picture symbol like mouth, eyelids, pupils, etc.. In this moment I finished to work on "head" timeline managing lips and eyes. And now I can work on body and arms movment in main-timeline. But I have a problem, because all head movments managed earlier in the second-timeline aren't visible on main-timeline. So, my question is: Can I do the results of the second-timeline visible also on the main-timeline?

I have an animate document with multiple frames. Each frame contains a slide with some content on it (basically like a simple presentation) and you can navigate between the frames with arrows (buttons). Now I want to add a function which enables a swipe function (for mobile devices) so you can just swipe to get to the next or previouse frame.  How do I make this work? (I've already tried multiple codes I found online but nothing seems to work...)  Some help would be appreciated! Thank you.

hi guys. so i was working on a file animation for 4 hours and it was 2 mins but then adobe crashed. i tried going back to the file but all the stuff i did was gone. i was crying and panicking. do you guys know how i can recover my crashed/unsaved file?

Hello i just purchased the year membership and i downloaded the application and it gives me the option to open it but it wont open,  and everytime i try to go into the program files and open it through the folders an error pops up and tells me im missing a certain "dll" and to reinstall it and it may fix the problem but nothings working can someone help please ?

Hello everyone! I want an animation of a horse running. I have made all the drawing on animate however when I do asset wrapping around the horse, after adding 2-3 bones, some parts of the image is being deleted. When I convert it to bitmap, there seems to be no problem however I don't want the pixelization that the bitmap brings therefore, I am applying asset wrap to vector. When I start to rig from other places then the head part disappears, when I start from back legs front legs are being deleted and when I apply it from front legs then the back legs are being deleted. I am adding the steps I apply and how it looks.  I am new to animate, I would be happy if there is a solution and you let me know. P.S: I am using my laptop that has RTX 3060 GPU and Intel I7 12. generation.
