hiis there a script for bridge to send photos to an external editor/program?i run cc 2015 windows 10 64bitthanks
It's very disconcerting. Bridge is continually crashing on me. I open up a folder with a lot of images in it in Bridge and it just crashes. This can go on 5 or 6 times until I just give up. Any ideas? If I reinstall it, using Creative Cloud, I guess I have to uninstall it first. Then, I have to re-install either InDesign or Illustrator, I forget which. So, because of that, I'll need to unintall Illustrator or InDesign, too. Right?Thanks.
Hello all,We have just over 20 current CC licenses for designers and prepress technicians, and we're looking for a cheap and easy solution for about 20 more customer service representatives to preview incoming indd, ai and psd files in order to get them to the right people. We read below that Bridge was free, and Bridge would work exceptionally well to meet the CSRs' needs.It’s True: Adobe Bridge CC Is Completely Free for Everyone, for Life! | ProDesignToolsHowever, someone ran it past our corporate asset management group, and they told us “…basically Bridge CC is not free for us under our Enterprise Agreement.”. So I called a number on Adobe's website and spoke to a gentleman named Sipal, I believe, who also said Bridge is not free. He said the link above is old information, which applies to CS6, even though the article is from last year. Has the whole world gone crazy? Can anyone recommend a solution for us? We just need to preview adobe design files, not edit or output or pref
I posted this on another forum, but it works well on Bridge also.If some one need to have Japanese or Chinese or Korean text vertical buttons this can be done.If you try to change the size of the font, the size of the button will adapt automatically.If you change the text, the size of the button will adapt automatically.I have also put the value of the margin you want between the text and the button limits.There are several variations you can adapt, like the colors, the rollover line width and color, etc.Here is the code: var w = new Window("dialog"); b = w.add ('iconbutton',undefined,undefined, {style:'toolbutton', margin:6}); // you can change here the margin text<>button b.size = [20,200]; b.textPen = b.graphics.newPen(b.graphics.PenType.SOLID_COLOR, [0,0,0,1], 2); // text color [R/255, G/255, B/255, alpha/255] b.fillBrush = b.graphics.newBrush( b.graphics.BrushType.SOLID_COLOR, [1, 1, 1, 1] ); // background color [R/255, G/255, B/255, alpha/255]&nb
Hi all, I was trying to find some solution online and customize amazing script from Paul Riggott, but I am not able to make it work the way I need.I have my client images organized in folders and subfolders structure. For all images (thousands of files in many subfolders) I need an Adobe Bridge script to take the whole path of image file, separate from path individual names of folders and store these folders as separate keywords in image metadata.For example, I have image A.jpg in folder /Work/Job01/PartA/Photos and image B.jpg in folder /Work/Job02/PartB/Photos. After I run the script from Adobe Bridge on folder /Work, I would like to have for both images added keywordsA.jpg: Work; Job01; PartA; PhotosB.jpg: Work; Job02; PartB; PhotosAs “Work” and “Photos” folders are usually present, it would be nice to have an opportunity put these two exact strings into script and exclude them from keywords added, but it is not necessary 🙂The script bellow adds just one keyword ~/Work/Job01
HelloI need script that can copy all layers names to some metadata field, like keywords all similar...In this way I can sort files which have layers to some subfolderthanks
I need a script that will convert metadata in Bridge to an xml file I can import into InDesign so that when I export long documents the alt text for photos is already included with the images. Two problems - 1) I need the scripting for dummies version - from step 1 to end. I have zero experience with using scripts, as in - did not know they existed until a few days ago. 2) If the script needs adapted - see #1; there is very little hope that I will have any idea of how to do that without assistance. I will be grateful for any assistance!! I do want to learn how to do this, if I can.
Is there a way so if one subkeyword is selected, a certain other one is automatically selected. Or a script that can autorun?For example, when pet name is selected, proper animal type should be automatically selected.
Can a custom Bridge CC script call an external photoshop script?
In my system Bridge CC 6.1.1.10 calls PS CC 2015.1.1 by default. I have also PS CC 2014 installed and would like to have Bridge call the PS CC 2014 version by default.How can I change the default Photoshop version in Bridge?I have deactivated the Photoshop CC 2015 startup script in the Bridge preferences and activated the Photoshop CC 2014 start up script. This, however does not affect the Bridge default Photoshop application.
MerciSimone
I have a Br script which loads and saves thumbnail Stacks into a layered PSD.I would like the Br script to run a Photoshop action which renames the PSD layers before saving the file.Can a Br script run a Photoshop action?What is the Br scripting syntax to run a Photoshop action?The statement doAction("Action Name","Action Set") is not working in the Br script.
I know this can be done in Lightroom but I prefer to use Bridge directly but hope for a solution to this issue in order that finding photos with GPS Data is a simple process!?Peter H
I bumped into yet another mystery: When I run a script directly in ExtendScript, it interpretes the '\r' as a CRLF. Yet, when I called it via bridgetalk, the '\r' was left as text.This strange behavior exists if I set target to photoshop or not. Can someone tell me why please?Below is the unit test (CS6, Windows 10)- Calling script:#target bridgevar bt = new BridgeTalk; bt.target = 'photoshop'; var myPath = '~/Desktop/testCarriageReturnSubstitution.jsx'; var scriptFile = new File(myPath);var fOpen = scriptFile.open('r');var script = scriptFile.read();$.writeln(script);bt.body =script;bt.send(); - Test script:#target photoshopvar badString = '\rTitle\rCity, State - USA December 2015';var newString = badString.replace('\n', "\n");$.writeln (badString);$.writeln(newString);Result when running directly via ExtendScript:TitleCity, State - USA December 2015Result: undefinedResult when invoked via calling script:Result: true\rTitle\rCity, State - USA &
I am trying to use a keyword into sets of images, each of the images on the set contains in the file name what I want for keyword and an extension.Example,File names: WD111_mainWD111_01WD111_02I want all of them to have on the metadata just WD111.help?!?!
This is my first post to this forum, and first I wish to thank those who provided code snippets to help folks. That also helped me tremendously in getting started with Bridge scripting when documentation was deficient. I have been struggling for days trying to figure out why my script did not update metadata correctly, then narrowed down to some odd behaviors (perhaps it only behaves as I instructed it to do).0. In Bridge, create a template to add common metadata info such as author info, copyright1. In Bridge script: Update metadata of an image - event location, headlines etc.; then2. ApplyMetadataTemplate (append) to the same image to add common fields such as author info and copyright; Result: Fields added in step 1 were wiped out; some fields identified in the template were added (creator, copyright status and usage terms), but some did not make it (creator state/country/email/website). I had expected that metadata added before applyMetadataTemplate/append would be retained, and al
I downloaded Bridge CS6 and I have not been able to use it yet. I am on a MacBook Pro running 10.7.4 and every time I launch Bridge I get the following error:Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation.When I try to purge the cache Bridge freezes up. If I don't try and purge the cache I am unable to navigate to any folders on my computer and it just hangs. I eventually have to force quit to get out of it. So far Bridge CS6 has been completely unusable.Please help.Thanks.
The following script extracts the style names from a style asl file in photoshop. This code works for photoshop CS2, when run from the ETSK with CS2 selected: // CS2 version x = function () { var file = File(app.path + '/Presets/Styles/buttons.asl'); file.open( 'r' ); file.encoding = 'BINARY'; var stuff = file.read( file.length ); var rx = /null\x00\x00\x00\x02\x00\x00\x00\x00Nm[ ][ ]TEXT\x00\x00.+?\x00\x00/g; var result = stuff.match( rx ); if (result != null) { var msg = ''; for (var i = 0; i < result.length; i++ ) { result = result.replace( /.*Nm[ ][ ]TEXT/g, '' ); result = result.replace( /[\x00-\x1F]/g, '' ); msg += '\n'+result; } alert(msg); } } x(); --------------------- However, the identical code, run from Bridge, using BridgeTalk, will not work. BTW, this is the only code I have that will not work via BridgeTalk. It stumbles on (result != null) and photoshop seizes up. The following code is saved as test.jsx in the StartupScripts folder: // Bridge version Test=
HiIm trying to make a context Menu script that creats several folders once i press it.The problem is, i don't know how to get the current active window path for the creation of the folders. Im currently stuck with an absolute path.Anyone know how i can modify the red line to make it work with the current folder path that bridge is displaying when i press the menu?This is what i have: #target bridge if( BridgeTalk.appName == "bridge" ) { var Ordnerstruktur = new MenuElement( "command", "Ordnerstruktur Erstellen", "-at the end of Thumbnail","uniqueId1"); } Ordnerstruktur.onSelect = function () { var folder1 = Folder("~/desktop/My New Folder");//Check if it exist, if not create it.if(!folder1.exists) folder1.create(); alert("Menü 1 gedrückt");}
Hi, working with Adobe Bridge CC on Windows 10 (javascript) - I am trying to add objects to a newly created collection - how do I go about... ? var myCol = app.createCollection('my new collection'); myCol.add(new Thumbnail(File('/c/folder/pathtomy/file.ai'))); But this doesn't seem to work. I also tried children.push, which didn't work...
When I try to purge the cache in bridge, it takes forever to the point where it stops responding to commands. How do I repair this? I've tried to uninstall and reinstall. but the same things keeps happening.
Hi,I am looking for a bridge script which would autostack thumbnails (not the real files) by two (or three, or four, etc ...) for all the picture files inside a folder.ex:-selecting the 2 first thumbnails (the same picture but with different names), then stacking these 2 first thumbnails-selecting the 2 next thumbnails and stacking these 2 thumbnails- and so on ...PS : don't know if it's important but I work with tiff files on PCThanks in advance to the Scripters community.
I'm looking for a way to automate an Illustrator action. I can do batch out of ILL. But was wondering if the Action can be run on a selection of images out of Bridge?ThanksMax
I intalled PS CS6 yesterday only to find that Btidge does not open. I've searched for answers since then and have yet to find any. I've reinstalled it just to see if that would make a difference, but it hasn't. I'm currently running Windows 7 64bit. Photoshop runs great, the only problem is with Bridge, and apparently I can't get any help from Adobe until tomorrow
Hey Everyone,I work in the tech field and part of my daily workflow is checking hundreds of images to make sure they're "up to spec" - they need to be a certain dimension (say, 500x800px), RGB8, and .JPEG files. Is there a way to automate the "spec check" process, wherein images that aren't up to spec might be flagged in some fashion? Say, a file comes in that's the right dimensions and a JPEG but saved in CMYK space. Maybe the script could give it a 1-star rating whereas the others, that are up to spec, would get 5-star ratings? If anybody can give me a jumping off point as to how I'd start that automation, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!Best,Buster
