Unable to get dimensions to display in Bridge->InDesign Contact Sheet II (CS3)

Hello!

I posted the following in the "Adobe Bridge for Macintosh" forums and it was suggested that I repost here:

I am trying to do something that I thought would be simple but am now tearing my hair out. I want to make a basic contact sheet that displays file name and file dimensions as captions.

Since the Photoshop CS3 Contact Sheet II only allows for filename, I went into the InDesign CS3 Contact Sheet II tool.

In the caption editor, I have tried selecting the metadata from EXIF and TIFF, both which claim to display dimensions. Neither work, saying "metadata not available". I see no option to simply grab the file property which would save me a whole lot of headache.

I tried to look where to edit the metadata for dimenions - they're not in the list in the Bridge CS3 metadata window.

I'm pretty much stuck. Am I missing something obvious or am I out of luck?

EDIT:
I think the issue is that all but one of the images are GIF files and it doesn't seem to detect dimensions from that file format. I'm batch converting them all to JPG now, but that seems excessive if it's unneeded.

Many thanks for any help provided!

Cheers,
-M

I am having the same problem. I clearly see the metadata for "Dimensions" and "Dimensions (in inches)" under File Properties in Bridge CS3, but I can't find a way to include that info in the caption of my contact sheets. Does anyone know a way to show this? Or perhaps suggest another script or plug-in that will?

Thanks,

-JM

Melissa,

The caption feature uses whatever is stored in the image's metadata.Sounds like you've done everything right in the set up, but the data just isn't there.
