I want to create a training video that includes some assignments that require the student to interact with the material displayed on the screen. This is a very simple example of the kind of thing I have in mind:One option is that it would reject the image if the user tried to drop it in the wrong place. Alternatively, the user drags and drops all three and then presses a "submit" button, and receives a right/wrong report or score. Is Adobe Captive the best program for creating this kind of content?

Hi all,Just looking for input from Captivate users. My company is currently working with Cp9 and we are considering making the jump to Cp2019. See, we didn't change to 2017 when it was available because we were having issues with the question slides not formatting properly in the responsive design (all of our projects must be responsive). In our experiments, the questions and answer options would always go off the screen instead of downsizing to fit the smaller screen size. The questions slides are the only ones that would do this. Is this issue fixed or does anyone have a workaround?

Project Details:Captivate 2019 Release 11.0.0.243Responsive ProjectI have a project with 317 slides, about 70 of which are part of the quiz. There is branching throughout the project, both for standard content slides as well as quiz slides. The branching is controlled by conditional statements, which are part of Advanced Actions. At the start of the project, the user selects one of three narratives. This choice assigns a value to a variable. Then, throughout the rest of the content and the quiz, some slides are loaded based on the value in that variable.There are some Animations/GIFs, and previous/next buttons on most slides, all of which have a rollover state. Because of the narrative branching, the previous/next buttons often have a Jump to Slide action.Once I added branching to the quiz, the output both in Preview as well as Published forms began to stall. I will try to briefly explain what I am doing and which are my goals.Project: I have a project that consists of a central mind map with several options in the shape of little square images. When you click in one of these images, you are redirected to a fact sheet page, with information about it. In this page, you can choose whether this option is relevant or not to you, by choosing YES or NO. If you click YES, you are redirected to the mind map and a positive tick will be present on top of the previously selected little square image. If you chose NO, you are redirected to the mind map and a cross will be showing on your little square image. Ideally, you should be able to click on this square again and decide again YES or NO how many times you want (until you are satisfied with your choice). I have two Knowledge checks which i need to put into one project, the only way i can figure this out is to combined the questions into one test at the end of the learning.The problem that i have is each subject within the test needs to be passed at a minimum of 80%.If i combine the tests [total of 22 questions] i could fail 4 questions from the first test subject and still pass the overall test as i would get over 80%. Which would mean that my knowledge has not been assessed and passed in both areas.Is there anyway within Captivate that i can have a 22 question combined test [10 questions for one subject and 12 questions covering the other subject] and have an 80% mark for both subjects within the test?

I've been playing with this for a while and it seems that a simple setting that I can't locate. Problem: in the past I could import a small table from excel and it would fit and look exactly like what was in Excel. On this project Indesign is giving all the cells some indentation and so I get all the red dots in place of my text. Right now I've set it up so I have to highlight the text in the table, then click on the cell style I created with zero indent. Is there a way to set a default so it will import just like I have it formatted in Excel?Thanks,BVB

I am using Adobe Captivate, 2019 release, v11.0.1.2.66, on a Windows computer.I have a resized (blank) project which has 'jumping buttons'.The original project was created using 1024x627, white theme.  This project does not have 'jumping buttons' when viewing in MS Edge or IE11 (required by the customer).As we wanted more 'space' for videos (which have not been added yet), the project was resized to 1280x720.  This size was chosen after reading Captivate forum comments about resizing.The buttons were obtained from "Get Free eLearning Assets", Template, Buttons, Tech: Captivate Buttons, as well as buttons we added (Interactions, Button) and SmartShape (use as button).  Buttons appearing on graphics do not seem to 'jump'.Buttons on our Knowledge Check pages do not jump.  We do not have any Quizes in this project.If we place the input cursor in the center of the button, it does not jump (do not know how many pixels are involved in making it not jump).  The size of

I saw another user asked this question 2 years ago and there's no answer.  I recorded a video demo.  In the preview and in the published version the demo loops back around to the beginning. I can tell because the image is different and it repeats some of the audio. I don't understand why it's doing that.  Here's a screenshot of the timeline.  Everything looks ok and I don't see a setting that refers to any looping.  Even playing it in the preview I can see the marker jumping back to the beginning at the end of the playback.  Any help is appreciated!

Hi All,I'm using CP 2017, and I'm trying to figure out how to change the type of quiz slide on a slide I'm working on.  It is currently a drag and drop and I want it to be a matching.  Is there a way to easily do this, or do I have to rebuild from scratch?Thanks!

Hi All I just want to confirm as i never really know the answer to this but if i want to upload some simple animated video footage which includes only a few pause buttons do i need to upload to Moodle as a Scorm package?I want to be able to see which users have accessed the videos and ideally if they have watched them all the way through but that's it...Thank you!Kim

I've created a multiple choice quiz in PowerPoint which has been uploaded to Captivate 2017. My question is how do I make it so users have to make at least one selection on the response selection slide before they can advance to the next slide (which shows the correct answers)?Thanks!

hello.I have a quick question regarding Question Slides (scored).I am trying to create a knowledge check module that doesn't necessarily use the 'question slide'.Instead, they will be scored based on the interactive task they have completed prior to the 'question slide'.Here is something that I am trying to create.Basically, IF the user did what they were supposed to do in slide 1 & 3, they will be directed to the SCORM slide and receive score.IF they did not do what they were supposed to do correctly, they will be directed to the next question without being able to visit SCORM slide to receive score. (Essencially, they skip the question and get 0 for it)I quickly tried it out by creating some blank slides....and it did work.I did see the quiz result score correctly displaying everything as it was designed to.But, someone in my team raised some concern about compatibility issue with SCORM / LMS.Something in the line of 'once you start a question slide, it has to be continuous. Hi all,I have recently started working on captivate 9. I had a query regarding the way to copy the animation properties from one object to another. Like in Powerpoint or Storyline there is animation painter which works similar to format painter. Using the animation painter one can copy the animation assigned to an object to another.Does captivate provide such option? I was unable to figure that out. Hi Guys,I have recently finished a project for a client, which required the use of a 8x8 button Matrix, as a custom quiz, which at the time I though of doing it via 64 individual buttons, which thne required me to use 64 advanced actions.  Which wasn't too much of a pain until I needed to include 8 of the matrix's which then meant alot of buttons and a lot of actions. My logic behind having an action per button was due to only one having a score, but each one having to be selectable and have that state be retained and then disabling the matrix.  I am sure There was a much better way now, but this project was my first expereince with Capativate.  Just wondering if anyone has any tips on a better way of implamenting a 8x8 matrix, which would be easier to work with in terms of updates and the likes.I was thinking a way of doing it via variables, but Would still require 64 variables per action, which would still very time consuming if updates needed to be made.ANy advice or

I have been tasked with creating a presentation of the following size:About 40 slides, total playtime about 20 minutes.About 15 videos, durations ranging from 10 seconds to 2 minutes.When video is not playing there will often be an audio file playing (narrating voice).The presentation will be published on our own webserver. I have very little experience in Captivate och e-learning authoring in general, so I'm wondering if this project might be too ambitious in its usage of media files? Does this presentation risk giving users a degraded experience due to high load times, or delays?

Uhh... it only appears on the first slide though. text entry boxes are validated via advanced actions but, uhh... no. this thing isn't supposed to be in the slide.

Hello!  When I insert an image (JPEG and PNG), the image inserts, but is not visible. It's as if the image is placed in the background.  I've tried arranging and bringing to front, but it still does not show.  The image is on the timeline, I just cannot see the actual image. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing (the outline of the image is highlighted).  Images were just fine through slide 6 - this just started with slide 7. Even when I copy a slide that has an image already on it, it still shows up blank. Any ideas?

Hello, I am having issues with getting the fluid boxes to properly align up when previewing in different modes. When cycling through  the layout preview mode, everything is fine except when viewing in "Google Pixel 2", the fluid box layout is different from the other views as shown below or you can reproduce.Scene:5 fluid boxes "horizontally"Q. Newbie Question: I'm looking for a way to create an on-line course with a lot of interactive content. Does an online course created with Captivate require that the students have Flash installed on their computers?

We are trying to switch over to the new version of Captivate and are running into issues with the new closed captioning feature. This feature does not allow us to have the CC at the bottom and fill the space accordingly no matter what settings we try. Additionally, the CC's tend to move wherever they want on each slide. This is a big problem and it needs to be addressed.

I just started using Captivate 2017.  The play bar which normally displays at the bottom of the Timeline window is missing.  How do I get it to reappear?

I've created a project in which the learner is prompted to enter his/her last name into text entry boxes. That text is retained as a variable: [First_Name] and [Last_Name].At a later slide, the learner's entry appears in a button. This is the normal state of the button. (It's the one in the middle.)It might be difficult to see, but when I preview the project, the text entry displays in all of the different states.Rollover state...Down state...However, when I preview HTML5 in Browser, the normal state displays the variable information, but that information is not retained in the different states. Only the variables are displayed.Rollover state...Down state...Unfortunately, this is also the case when we publish to SCORM on our LMS.Any insights?

Hey, I have a project containing widgets for playing youtube videos and animations made in Adobe Edge that i've put into the project as HTML .oam files. I have found a resolution for the web objects sitting on top (not being able to order them behind text for example) by changing the value of UseWidget7 in the .ini file as per:Insert web objects in Adobe Captivate projects However, with this changed to 1 it makes  the youtube videos not work properly. They will autoplay but you cant interact with them in anyway i.e the essential task of pausing the video! I have also tried to add videos as a web object using the embed code from youtube but this gives the same issue. Seems to me like I either have to choose between having a video player that learners can interact with and having cool animations that sit behind text. Does anyone know a workaround for this?
