Question

Change frame rate or speed of a take?

Is it possible to "speed up" or "slow down" an individual take?  Let's say I have recorded a take, using dragger handles on an arm.  I am happy with the movement, but I'd like it to be a bit faster (or slower) without having to go through a series of re-recording in order to get the speed of the movement just right.  Is this possible?  (I know I can record at a slow rate, then play back at a normal speed, but even this is a trial and error method of getting a movement to look like I want it.)

I don’t think so, at least not elegantly.

You can speed it up by splicing the take, shortening each splice, then join them back together. You can zoom in and adjust at the frame level. Or splice then overlap the takes by a frame here and there and use a blend to smooth out the transition. But it’s not very elegant.

You do have more control in prem pro, but it will just duplicate or drop frames I suspect.

I would like the same functionality. A simple right click on the clip with the option "Speed" would pop up a dialog.
