Question

Multiple dragger behaviours not working as expected

Hi. When I first started using Ch - a couple of years ago - Dave recommended in one of his Okay Samurai videos to have a default dragger behaviour for the most basic arm position, then create new draggers for each arm, so that the arms didn't keep moving back to their default position. I've been doing this ever since, so I usually end up with three dragger behaviours - one for default, one for the left arm, one for the right. But lately when I do this, the new arm draggers don't seem to work correctly. I can only lift the arms to shoulder height, then they become distorted. Only the original default dragger gives full arm movement. Is there any reason for this? I'm using Arm IK with default settings.

I've attached a short movie to illustrate.

I made a video - I think this is the issue.

used a translation software to convert Japanese into English.

I think you probably did not add  "Limb IK" to the individual arm layers.

So when you turned off the "default Drag behavior"

Isn't the arm stretched and contracted when the individual arm is moved?

Check out the sample puppets I made.

Is this method in line with your wishes?

Check.

Sorry! must have missed this one earlier. I cannot view the movie file on my ipad sorry - will try to look from desktop later. But the behavior you describe is consistent with two dragger behavior recordings existing at the same time. If you have two dragger behaviors, it averages between the two recordings I think. If only one has a recording, then that one wins. If you have two recordings (takes) for the same behavior, then it's fine as the second take overrides the lower one.

Could you share a screenshot of a recording showing the different takes for a recorded scene where the problem happens?

There are other possibilities about handles on different arm swap sets messing up, but I would explore the above first.

Have you managed to figure this out? I am following the tutorial and experiencing the exact same behaviour. Created the second dragger and when the second dragger is armed, the arm's range of movement is limited  just like in your video.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It's making it quite tricky to work with. Thanks.
