I've been loving the new version's performance so far but often when I set a texture set's resolution to 4k it hard crashes my PC. No response, mouse freezes and leaving it to resolve itself (for an hour) doesn't solve anything. Also sometimes my project will look like this (image below), although a simple change that forces a recalculation will fix it. As the title suggests i never had this issue before the update. Any help would be very apreciated.
Is there some sort of bug with 3D substance painter? Yesterday I was able to import my own FBX files into Painter, but today I can't. The only FBX files it recognizes are assets from the Substance 3d assets site. Has something changed????
Substance reports that the current installed driver is out-dated.[GPUIssuesCheck] Installed driver for graphics adapter 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB' is outdated. You should update them for a better experience (http://www.geforce.com/drivers).The currently installed version is 30.0.14.7111.The recommended minimum version is 26.21.14.4250 (442.50 WHQL). It is NOT out-dated at all:Bets not to allow installed programs decide if system drivers are good or not.Sunstance Paitner 3D clearly has it wrong. Thanks in advance for fixing this in timely matter - today is good 🙂 🙂
Hi everyone, I am currently on build 7.2.0 - just wanted to use substance launcher for downloading materials (was quite convenient when you could just hit send to painter and it would move your materials to the library straight away.) However, trying to use launcher now will open up a legacy copy of painter, not transfer the material to the latest version. To get around this I've just been downloading materials and importing them manually. Is there a way to still use Launcher with the latest version of Painter? Thanks!
I have no more access to Substance Source !I have a paid plan for Painter, Designer etc .... and my access and all my points are suppressed !I check my monthly plan have been paid. What does Adobe ?
Greetings!I have an existing Substance Subscription that doesn't expire until Novenber! I was wondering if any of that is going to reflect on the cost to use Substance under the creative cloud (that I also have a subscription with). It kind of a loss to me that I've paid $239.00 for this Subscription and yet when I what to update, I'm asked to pay more for something that I was promused under the Substance Subscription contract. At the very least, I find it unfair to being charged for updating even at $20 a month!
hey guys and gals, mayube you can help. I am looking to bake my model without having to break up my model into multiple seperate pieces. the issue I am getting is seams/lines from the near by model/meshes baking into the maps of the neighboring mesh. I am baking normalmaps for a human sized drone, and I get the issue where the nearby meshes "bake" into the mesh I am baking currently or all them at once. How do I avoid this issue? is there a setting ? I tried a cage file but it didn't work, still baked the neighboring meshes into my normalmaps e.g. the hull and the canopy glass baking into it. thoughts on this? I'd greatly appreciate it thank you.
As I understand form the discussion last week, those of us using named licenses via our institutions will be able to add Substance applications. Currently I only see the option to try or buy. When will the ducational license information receive an update? Is there anything we can do withour old Substance Educational licenses for the lab?
Up to the latest version of Substance Painter there was an export preset that allowed me to paint my model in and then export it to Adobe Dimension. The newest update has export to Stager but Dimension does everything I need so I did not include Stager in my subscription.I tried to use export to Stager and the obj and textures were created to a folder but the obj would not open in Dimension. Is this a bug or has Dimension been crippled on purpose to force people into a subscription that includes Stager?
Is it possible to run unit tests using the Substance Painter python API outside of Painter, in headless mode? Does Painter come with a python interpreter that can import the substance_painter package?
I installed the latest substance and i have the latest studio driver and I get the following issue. No problem with the latest original Substance Painter from algorithmic
Hi, I just install Substance Painter 2021 but I have a low end PC with Nvidia gtx 630. I want to buy Substance painter 2020. Is it possible? Where? Thanks
Would it be possible to release a UDIM Description (.$udimDesc) token for export? We've been using UDIMs to easily paint across unique textures (eg. split Head and Body textures). The issue with using (.$udim) is we then have to manually rename textures after each export into engine if we want 'descriptive' names.
Ive been all over asking around about the steam version of painter. I just bought 2020. Then 2021 update was announced. I went to purchase it just after the new year and the upgrade path was gone. Is there no way to upgrade? If not Id like to get the 2020 version of designer but it was taken off steam too. Substance support has been horrible by the way. It use to be top notch but I cant even find someone to help anymore. Also you need to high priority a subscription models with photoshop, designer, and painter for $15 a month for us common indie folk. Photoshop already had me questioning continuing my photography plan. The program is a slug these days. Ive been happier in affinity and krita. If I cant get some serious answers here though. Im definitly going to skip reuping on photoshop. Adobe must be having a culture meltdown or something.

I have a student license for the Substance suite. When I turned on my computer today Substance Launcher started updating my apps but then they don't open. I tried opening the old versions but they are not installed anymore. I then downloaded the new app from Adobe Creative Cloud app but it then doesn't recognize my license. What should I do?
Installed driver for graphic adapter NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 is outdated. The currently installed version is 30.0.14.71111 (471.11 WHQL)The recommended minimum version is 26.21.14.4250 (442.50 WHQL) Painter want me to download OLD drivers and install them...my current drivers are 100% up to date... what do i do? please help somebody
Hi,I'm about to migrate to adobe Substance 3D but I have around 1200 Asset points I don't want to lose! Before I cancel my subscription and bring it over, will All the materials come over with the migration and the Asset Points I've accumulated or am I just screwed? (hopefully not)
Hi !Before Substance fully merged with Adobe, substance3d offered me a 50% discount for the first year of subscription because my student license was ending, I obviously took it and now that Substance has fully merged with Adobe I was wondering if i will keep my discount(i have invoices which prove what i'm saying) if i'll keep my discount, how can switch my discount from substance to adobe ?
I have a current account on Substance3d and have had many subscriptions both student and Indie over the years. I also have a Student / Teacher CC account and would like to merge the 2 but I see no benifit of subscribing via Adobe until there is the option to either add this bundle to student / Teacher or the old Indie equivalent.
Hello, so I have been struggling with this for some time now. I have been trying to bake the high res with my low res model, but the smoothness and details from the high res never bake in. This is from Maya to Substance. This is a class assignment I'm months late on! Ah! Here is a link to my files. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/82gj1ogx7ajkman/AACavuFT-zaptgPQye96OANUa?dl=0
Every time I try and run Painter, I get a message saying my drivers are out of date, which is impossible, since I_just_updated them about an hour before I purchased the subscription. How do I fix this problem?
An image saying that my drivers are outdated showup everytime i open painter, this started to happen since i got the latest nvidia version (471.11). Is there a way to fix this problem?
Anyone else has this issue that the normal baking wont produce any map? I tried the same mesh in the old substance and works fine.
Hi !I have recently renewed my indy annual Substance Suite subscription but wonder what it will become now. I mean if all products are now part of the Creative Cloud, will there be a refund or kind of an automatic switch to the new Substance Suite ?
