Question

Creative Cloud payment renewal reminders for ACIs?

Are there any other Adobe Certified Instructors out there? I have both Creative Cloud ACI certs, which are up to date and current, expiring in about 13 months' time. Almost a year on since I passed the latest exams, my CC apps have begun showing increasingly aggressive and visually ugly payment reminders. Trainees always notice and ask about it, and I'm not sure what to tell them without sounding negative about Adobe - some of these trainees are on trial versions and risk being put off by this.

I have messaged Adobe Training Partner Portal support to ask but received no response. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I have received my ACI voucher code for another 12 months from Adobe Training Partner support, so my initial query has been solved.

This has removed the in-app payment reminders that appear on each app's Home screen. But it has not removed the large "Renew your Creative Cloud subscription" notice in Creative Cloud Desktop, on both Mac and Windows platforms. I've tried signing out and back in to see if it would go away but unfortunately not.

Ah well, it's been there since March and I'm getting used to it. Maybe it'll remain there permanently. It's just one of those things I suppose. Trainees think it's a bit bizarre but there is nothing I can do about it.

I appreciate the suggestions that I should not run CC Desktop at all or simply not look at it, but I'm an Adobe Certified Instructor and need to show CC Desktop to my trainees at some point in every course.

reset the cc desktop app: make sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

Thanks for the suggestion, kglad, but this does not remove the renewal message, unfortunately. Have a great weekend, though.

@alidabbs,

In what way are payment reminders "ugly?"  Are you sure they're coming directly from Adobe and not some bad actor pretending to be Adobe?

I seldom pay attention to things I receive by email.  Most of it is junk.

When you need to check the status of your Adobe plan, it's available online 24/7 by logging-in to your secure account below.  If there's a payment problem, you will see a red notice.

Users on 7 day trial plans will be converted to monthly payment plans automatically on the 8th day.  But they have 14 days to cancel without incurring an early cancellation fee.

Thanks, Nancy. I appreciate the time you took to reply.

My problem is partly that it is *not* due - ACIs use a redemption code for their CC subs rather than pay monthly by credit card. I only came here to ask because my initial enquiry with Adobe Training Parter Support had not been answered.

My other objection is about the reminders. I don't mind Adobe reminding me that a renewal is due. But the reminders began in March (for a supposed June renewal) and they've been getting more and more intrusive as the date approaches. These reminders are right inside Creative Cloud apps and cannot be hidden. Here's the CC Desktop Utility:

This looks absolutely awful to trainees when I'm runing courses. I try to laugh it off by saying "Oh it's just a mistake" and trainess ask me whether they will end up with the same problem.

More recently, the messages have been added to the Home screens in the apps themselves. Here's the top right of InDesign's Home screen, for example:

Thankfully, someone from Adobe Training Partner Support has now replied and assures me a new redemption code is on its way to me.

Regards,

Alistair

You do realize that you can disable NOTIFICATIONS from your CC Preference settings.  I don't pay any attention to the marketing and hype. It's just noise.

90% of the time, I keep CC Desktop app closed (Ctrl + W).   And I disabled it from auto launching with Windows start up.

Thanks, kglad, but I think that's for making suggestions for new features in the software.

it's for bug reported and (not necessarily new) feature request.  but in your situation, you might request a feature to turn-off, limit or suspend cc payment reminders.
