Question

Trial period set up wrong!

I am a software enthusiast who loves learning and using different software.

Given that I have no experience with Photoshop and am for the first time confronted with tasks that require such software, I would like to give it a try.

However, I find a 7-day period prohibitively short.

For such a complex software and someone on full-time job I guess one can get a glimpse of the working environment and not much more.

I would find it much better if you provided a longer period and the lack of ability to save any significant amount of work. For example you could limit number of saves to some small number per day or limit the software to test it out with tutorials on your site.

That way one would be able to test out the features at a human rate, go through the learning manual, really get to learn it and maybe fall in love with it.

Trial period of seven days is basically useless.

Same goes for Illustrator. I needed a week to get a feel for the pen tool in Inkscape. That is tiny fraction of what such a software offers.

My 2 cents from a perspective of single enthusiast vs. you as a software behemot.

Do be sure what you are buying

If you are willing to pay more, SOME programs are available Monthly https://community.adobe.com/t5/Get-Started/Being-charged-for-a-full-year-when-i-m-on-month-to-month/td-p/10248222 - links and pictures
-as far as I know, the special Photography Plan is ONLY available on an annual plan, with monthly or 1 annual payment

Thanks for the info John

The nature of my job certainly does not justify buying a full-blown subscription. That is why I would like to learn the products and the principles more than I need the results of them. It was why I suggested the idea.

Thank you for the feedback, Mario. I consider myself a technology and computer enthusiast, so I understand your concerns.

If you wish to use Photoshop or Illustrator without commitment, then I would encourage you to choose a month-to-month plan if it is available in your country. This will allow you to evaluate the software and cancel at any time. If you decide you want to change to an annual membership, then you can utilize the steps listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/change-plan.html to switch to an annual plan.

If you want to properly enjoy the complexities of a CC All App membership and the variety of apps and services available for mobile and desktop devices, then I would strongly suggest an annual membership. You can bookmark https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html, which provides information on how to cancel the membership and set a reminder in your calendar to give you a notification when the membership is about to renew.

Finally, if you want to try Photoshop and Illustrator, then a CC All Apps membership would be the best choice. Both Desktop and mobile applications are currently included, plus access to the other apps and services listed at https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud.html
