Changes to Deleted Files Retention in Creative Cloud: What You Need to Know!

Dear Creative Cloud users,

We’re excited to let you know about an upcoming change to our deleted files retention process that will affect your online storage quota. Starting June 4th, 2023, any files added to your "Deleted" folder will be permanently removed after 30 days. This change is being made to optimize your storage space/quota and ensure that you have enough space for your creative work.

Please note that after deleted files are permanently removed, your cloud storage space will reflect the removal of the files. To avoid losing important files, we recommend that you restore them before the permanent deletion date. You can find instructions on how to restore a file on our HelpX page. You may also permanently remove files in your Deleted folder at any time. This new process applies to any file that is moved into the Creative Cloud storage Deleted folder from any device or Creative Cloud application. Items in the Deleted folder will continue to consume space until they are permanently removed.

We understand that this may be a significant change for some of you, and we want to ensure that you have all the information you need to adjust to this new process of deleted files retention. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope that this change will help optimize your Creative Cloud experience.

Best regards,

The Creative Cloud Team

Files are not being deleted after 30 days. I'm having to manually delete 75 GB of deleted files from I imagine many months/years. Over 1200 files in my Deleted box. I'm only using 25 GB out of my 100 GB, and you said I was full. I found out why. Your Deleted items are *not* deleting after 30 days.

@IVD

it's not even 6/4/23, yet let alone 30 days later than 6/4/23.  ie, read the above post more carefully.

Ah! lol it's for a future date. I still had that issue though, I'm not sure why I have to double-delete files. Shouldn't deleted files be... deleted? You've finally addressed this problem that should have been addressed years ago, thank you 🙂
