Getting an Adobe ID

Your FAQ page 

 

states:

What are the requirements to get an Adobe ID? An Adobe ID is a free and a nonintrusive way of identifying users. You need only provide a name, country, and e-mail address. You can create your Adobe ID when prompted within Adobe Digital Editions, or go directly to the Adobe.com, select “My Adobe” in the top-right corner, then click on “My Adobe ID” and follow the instructions for creating an Adobe ID. Note that you create an Adobe ID from a web browser. Once you’ve received confirmation the Adobe ID is created, then you may close the browser and return to Adobe Digital Editions, and enter the Adobe ID and password you created.

 

but on adobe.com it autoredirects me to https://www.adobe.com/home where there is no My Adobe in the top right corner.  

 

If I click on the unlabelled circular icon at the top right corner, it pops out a menu for my account

 

(account name with long assigned number to it)

(account email)

there is no  “My Adobe ID” to click on.  This is also not an option on any of the pages or menus that can be opened from that menu.  
 
Where on the adobe site (not in a program that must be downloaded and installed, but *on the website* as stated in the FAQ) do I *actually* go to to find  “My Adobe ID” so I can generate it to put into my reader to authorize ebooks? 
 
I attempted to find an answer in the existing forum posts, but there are tens of thousands of posts (at least) regarding adobe ID and after skimming pages and pages of them, with no relevant posts, and using all the potential search terms I could out of the FAQ page quoted above, I found it is not possible to search them in any reasonable time to find an answer to this.

    It took me all day long and finally used the correct search terms to find out that it is the EMAIL YOU CREATED YOUR ACCOUNT WITH. OP probably found this out already or gave up, but I just tried it to authorize books on Adobe Digital editions and it worked. 

     

    Spelling it out plain here to helpfully keep others from wasting hours like I did lol.

      I'm having the same issue as the original poster and have tested it: You can sign in with email and password on Adobe Digital Editions, but it will not work on my ereader, the ereader requires an AdobeID.

          Thank you for the reply, but that page doesn't accomplish the task required  (or as described in the FAQ, AFAICT, but so far the entire process has been very confusing since all the info I have so far run across is incomplete or out of date or incorrect). 

           

          I'm trying to find the link to the MyAdobe referred to in the FAQ I quoted in the original post, so that I can use that link to create the Adobe ID that will let me read borrowed DRM'd ebooks (from archive.org's library).  I was advised that the website on that page is supposed to create a key so that I can enter that wherever these books need to be read.  

           

          I can't use Adobe Digital Editions to read the books because it has an extremely poor UI, and cannot be adjusted visually to compensate for my vision issues.    Calibre can, but I have to provide it an authorization key (such as from Adobe) to be able to read these books. 

           

          Thank you for any help you can provide.  

           

          If that's not correct (as the FAQ is obviously not updated to the present adobe website design it probably isn't either?), how do I generate the authorization key from my adobe account?
