I have been advised that if a business registers the ABN they are exempt from the GST as the quote from the Parliamentary Library states

  • only supplies made to consumers will be caught: business-to-business transactions will be exempt

Can you please advise where we can register.

Also as a BAS Agent, I have probably 30 clients that use adobe, so

  • Can I bulk register the ABN's
  • Will the GST charged in the period 1/7/2017 - to current be refunded as we cant claim the GST on the invoices as an ITC

TIA

Registering for an ABN is separate from GST registration in Australia. You can apply for an ABN and GST separately through the Australian Business Register website or with professional assistance. Business-to-business transactions are generally exempt from GST, but registering for GST is mandatory if your business reaches the turnover threshold ($75,000/year). As a BAS agent, you may assist clients in bulk ABN registrations. Regarding GST refunds for past periods, seek advice from the ATO or a tax professional, as retroactive refunds for unclaimed GST might not typically apply after registering for GST.
