CS6 Design & Web Premium fails install due to 'Adobe Support Advisor'

I'm on a iMac, running 10.12.1. My computer crashed and I am having to re-download and install my CS6 kit that I bought in 2013. I can download the kit but the install fails.

These are the steps I have taken:

1. Download CS6 package from Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications

2. Unzip the download and double-click the Install folder.

3. On doing that, I get a dialog box with 'Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe SUpport Advisor to detect the problem.' and provides this link Adobe - Adobe Support Advisor

4. When I go to that link, I am told the Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued and replaced with "better installation support mechanisms" and tells me to check the forums for answers.

So here I am. CS6 downloaded but no way to install. HELP.

Jschmittdco I would recommend reviewing Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) where the workaround for installing Creative Suite 6 on macOS 10.12 is discussed.

Right click on downloaded "install CS6" file. (Premiere and Encore in my case) Click "Show Package Contents". Open Mac OS folder. Double Click install. THIS WORKS WITH HIGH SIERRA.

first, uninstall anything cs6 that might be installed.

then clean per Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

    restart your computer

    enable unidentified developers, http://mac-how-to.wonderhowto.com/how-to/open-third-party-apps-from-unidentified-developers-mac-os-x-0158095/

    retry installation.

if you see the same error message mentioned in 3.:

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

    if cc (win):  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-application-failed.html

    if, your error is:

"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."

first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.

    to find OOBE:

64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE

    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps

    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB

if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.

if you're using a dvd to install:

copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.

    if you're using a mac:

    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.

    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them

    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.

    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.

    5. Start the installation again.

if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:
