Deactivate and reactivate on new computer (Mac)

I have deinstalled Adobe Creative suite premium CS5.5 on a now defunct computer. I have spent several hours on chat to adobe, with 4 different operators. Operator 3 sent a link to download the program. After 80 minutes it was downloaded. Clicking on it did nothing. Then spent loads of time, 2 more different operators and was told it was a technical issue  and to go to forum to chat with technician. The whole bloody episode is appalling.  Does anyone at Adobe know how to help?

If you receive the error “Activation limit reached” or “Sign-in failed” , please see this document:

“Activation limit reached” or “Sign-in failed” error

If you changed your computer’s hardware or operating system without deactivating or you don’t have access to the previous computer on which you installed the application, please contact Adobe Support. Be sure to have any purchase-related information ready.

    Hope this hleps.

Thank you for your reply. I deactivated Creative suite 5.5 on an old

computer and attempted to get it onto a new iMac. My first chat contact

ceased operating. Then made contact with another operator. She sent a link

for me to download the program and activate with my serial number.

Downloaded after 1 hour and 20 minutes. Clicking on icon had no effect.

Contacted adobe again. Chat finished without warning. Contacted 4th

operator. Now told problem is a technical issue so contact forum. My

business still has no access to Lightroom or Photoshop or InDesign for the

    last day and a half.

Adobe's customer help has so far been useless and a complete waste of time.

In contrast On1 transfer to new computer was achieved with a minute or so.

Adobe's public relations with us has so far been abysmal. And we still

can't use products that were paid for.

Thanks you again for your reply.

    Hi fitzlefrog,

I'm sorry this has been such a frustrating experience! Have you been able to get the issue resolved? If not, on what Mac OS are you trying to install CS5.5? Do you receive any error messages or is the download simply frozen?
