Questions

I'm coming back to work on a site I built about 15 years ago using PHP and the database behaviors.  I gather those are no longer part of DW.   What is the current advice for how to update them, as what I had no longer works.

I have a list of items and I'd like to have additional information about each appear when cursoring over it.  I've looked in the css manual about the visible/invisible properties, searched the Dreamweaver & php manuals, and just can't get it right.  If someone would help me get started I would be very grateful.  I create some text with a class with visibility hidden and one with visibility visible, but don't know how to get that attached to the item.  In fact I'm muddled about the whole process.  What I read seems to suggest I need to use absolute positioning, and the hidden text leaves a blank space on the page, which is not what I'd like.  I know I've seen pages that have photos & when you mouse over a box appears to the side with information about the photo.  I'm not using a photo, just a list item.  I've done the hover to interchange 2 images the same size, but that's not what I'm trying to do here. Maybe this is something t

I must be using the wrong search terms but I cannot find any tutorials on how two people can work on the same site using Adobe cloud.

So, I can't really edit when the square is gray, But I can edit the square is blue or yellow. The question is how can I make the square gray to blue or yellow Sorry but English is not my first language. You can see the screenshot. ASAP please  .

I installed Dreamweaver CC (latest version) on my PC and configured it, including several sites. I activated the synchronizing feature for all settings. Then I installed it on my laptop and although I was asked whether I want to download my settings from the cloud (which I confirmed) no settings arrived. Also when I click the synchronize button or menu, it only says "Synchronized <date/time>" and nothing happens. I already read the documentation and I think I did everything correctly. Is there a bug in the latest version?

Hello all.  I've learned how to insert a YouTube video into Dreamweaver.  I can position the top margin of the video, however, I also want the video to be to the far right to fit in a designated area.  I don't know coding and am having a horrible time trying to do this.   I removed the video from the Animate file because the video playback was inconsistent once the page was uploaded to my site.  I'm hoping that if I embed the video from YouTube, this may correct the problem.  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there! Require a bit of help on this situation I'm facing. We acquired full control of a website from the previous web designers a while back and recently discovered that majority of the fonts went from serif (Freight family, taken from Typekit) to sans-serif. We believe that the Typekit account used by the previous web designers have depreciated, hence the font issue. I use Javascript variables to navigate through our web based training.  They won't work in Chrome or Edge, but they work in Internet Explorer.  Do I need to add something to the CSS or template for it to work properly in other browsers?

How can I have search engine without ads in Dreamweaver? I've installed and have been using Adobe's search engine, and it was working well. But at some point, it began showing ads in search results that are irrelevant to my Web site, and those irrelevant ads appear before the search results that relate to my Web site.  And I noticed that at least one user searching my site was confused by seeing those irrelevant ads appearing in her search of my site, and she immediately gave up on searching my site, saying the search moter didn't work. Also, I now have the problem that at some point, some words that appear on my Web site don't appear when I type them in the Google search motor window in my Web site. It may be because I stopped indexing my site using Site Automator.  I think that was because Site Automator started charging for its site indexing service. So my sitution is messy, and I fear this be one of those nightmarish technical problems that takes

Dreamweaver 21.1 is crashing on startup on Windows 10. I've tried doing the Windows+Ctrl+Shif execution for Dreamweaver.exe to reset preferences as mentioned in Unusual behavior in Dreamweaver? Try restoring preferences. (adobe.com) but that crashes, too. What else do I need to do?

Hi,I have never used Dreamweaver before and I have a client with an existing website that needs editing. How do I import the URL into the Dreamweaver UI to make changes via HTML?? Do I need FileZilla to implement changes on the server?

I'm thinking that most of my pages contents do not need full width in the body of each page. But I would like to have full-width page headings, perhaps even some full-width elements in a page that is limited to say 1200px wide.  Something like this:If I set a reduced body width,         body {            max-width: 1200px;            margin-left: auto;            margin-right: auto;            etc...................        }How do I then override this for a full-width element?.fullwidthheader {          something to override and set body width to 100% only for this class          }If this isn't on, what's the best alternat

Greetings - I am booting up an old asp / .net site that I could use some help with. Basically someone to help me convert an access DB to a SQL db and get all my connections working properly. Forgive me if this has been asked a ton already. I have not used Dreamweaver in years but am trying to boot up an old sites that connects to an access db. I installed the database extension (still not sure why that was removed) and while it does show my connection file, when I expand it it accesses nothing. The tables menu is blank. I am trying to use a user DSN like I did in the old days but cannot get it to connect. Any advice on if I am missing a new way of connecting to my access db or what I may be missing? Thanks!

I unplugged my computer back in Dec. and just now turned it back on to make IMPORTANT changes to my website but it is asking for re-activation, I have all my correct serial numbers, etc, but it says "cannot connect" ...but everything else on the computer is connecting just fine. What can I do, I am in a terrible time crunch. Please help. Should I post my activation numberts here ? BTW--I am not using this software on any othere computers. I am 70 yrs old and want to wind down my website and must do so right away. Thanks in advance.

I just started having an issue with Dreamweaver lagging for a couple of seconds after I return from another application. Example: I copy some text from an email and then go to past it into the code view. (I'm in developer mode) This obviously slows down work quite a bit.  Has anyone experienced this and do you have a solution? Thank you!!

Having trouble with Big Sur and Adobe software. Can not open at all latest version of Dreamweaver. Told to downgrade OS. which system is best keeping my other apps functional. Getting bad reviews for Catalina and not sure if Mohave will work with the newest model of Mac. Anyone else having issues with Adobe products. Thank you.

I have just had my Mac returned under warenty from a Adobe Mac Store I bought it from. I have had issues since day 1. They found after 25 days on the test bed as it was all intermittant faults, a very hard issue to fix.They found a heat sink commponent failing  and the Drive was changed from a HD and SSD  to a SSD only drive.I have now found that when I manage my local documents folder where I store my web sites i wotrk on it cannot not see the files.On inspection i have found a string issue that I cannot resolve !! Original path on my dreamweave back ups is:-MAC HD: users/les keen/ documents/ web site name. The new path on my dreamweave back ups is:-MAC SSD: MAC HD/users/les keen/ documents/ web name. For obvious reasons the file structure is failing.Dreamweaver will not let me edit the string.How do you change a MANAGE SITE file structure when you go to reload a back up folder from before the drive was replaced.Thank you Les
