Questions

I can't make any edits in live view 😞 I cannot place my cursor in the text,  the Element Display tabs do not appear. Any recs on how I can fix this?  

I'm coming from CS3 where I was used to seeing the files on the right to 2020 where they are now on the left. I've really tried to get used to the files being on the left, but still haven't. Is there some sort of setting that I can make it be on the right, and see the work space to the left?

How can I create .asp pages and have asp code writing support in dreamweaver? Thanks

In older versions of Dreamweaver there were simple pull down menus to set text size, font, size change, color, etc  I've just upgraded to Dreamweaver 20.2 and those things, which used to be easy now seem to require me to edit my tags by hand.  What am I missing here?  I've tried right-clicking with text selected and there are some menus (e.g., font) but nothing for size, color, and alignment, the ones I need the most.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi All - I don't use Windows often, but I'm hoping someone has come across this before and may have a solution.  I have a Win 10 computer that the CC App crashed and wouldn't update anything anymore. So I tried to uninstall and it failed.  So I used the cleaner tool and proceeded to re-install the Cloud App.  But everytime it gets stuck whether I download the package by instelf or if I try to download an app (ie: Dreamweaver) with the package.   Also I did check the log file at C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers and the log doesn't have an error as is like it was frozen too.   Any thoughts about what could be done to help get the installer moving again?

Hi. Is there any way to paste a block of text into Dreamweaver and then format it to automatically add <br> tags after line breaks or double line breaks?Thanks!

I have recently started coding with Dream Weaver again.  When I start to type the code, there is an extreamly long lag (about 2 seconds) for the code to apear on the screen. From what I can gather it has something to do with it trying to auto predict what I am typing.    I am running the latest verstion of Dream Weaver My system specs are: Windows 10 Home Version 1909 Processor: Intel Core i5-9300h CPU @ 2;40 GHz Installed RAM: 8.00GB   Is there away to get rid of this lag, or should I be looking for another option for coding to avoid the time waisted on this lag?

I have somewhat limited knowledge of web development, however, I am funding a new website concept and I am researching the best methods for development and deployment.I have used Dreamweaver in the past and would like to use it for develoment of the static content of the website.  The website being developed will be very traffic intensive, with lots and lots of video and audio being transferred.For the dynamic part of the website, I was considering Python, so in essence we will be using dreamweaver and python running together with dreamweaver delivering static content and python delivering dynamic content.does this make sense.  Everything I am reading suggest that dreamweaver may be somewhat slower when delivering dynamic content.  Please correct me if I am wrong.If using python for dynamic content, would you use Django as the framework.It is almost certain that dreamweaver will be used, just trying to figure out how best to develop the dynamic part of the website.Thanks

Hello. For some reason, when I create new links in the "skat News and Updates" area, they are turning out dark green instead of the bright green like the other links. I have looked at the code and there doesn't seem to be any difference. Can anyone tell me what the issue is? They are appearing this way on different devices.www.rideskat.org

This error message pops up when opening some of my html files in a Dreamweaver site: While executing onLoad, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:At line 75 of file "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Freamweaver 2020\Configuration\Commands\Date_beforeSave.htm":docElement has no properties Using Dreamweaver cc 2020 I navigated and opened the htm file.  The code at line 75 is: allText = docElement.outerHTML; // re-fetch I barely keep up with ccs code, but really don't know what's wrong with the java code here or is it something in the site html file that I am opening that is having a problem with this java code?  This file with line 75 seems to be doing something with checking save dates.Attached a screen shot of several code lines before and after line 75.

For a few days now I have had the problem that the input of code is extremely delayed. The cursor takes a long time to assume the new position and the display of the text is delayed. You can't work like that. I set all parameters to default, but there is no effect. Please help me. Has anyone ever had this?

My computer closes it automatically. I tried on other pc's  -- windows 7 and 10 latest version.  2gb ram etc etc all specs I need and it keeps closing.   [Edited by moderator for clarity.]

I just downloaded the most recent version of Dreamweaver (20.2 for macOS), but when building a page, as soon as I save the file, the code disappaers. The correct results of the code do show up in the Live view (or even in the Previw pane of the Split View), but the code itself is nowhere to be found. Can anyone please help?

A few years ago I did a lot of PHP/MySQL web development for my site. MAMP is set up on my computer, the local database is set up, everything works just fine if I go to http://localhost/mstrg.com/main/ to preview a new template for the site. Here's proof: The only thing I have done to this template so far is to load it up in the "main" subdirectory, copy the files, and change the extension to PHP.   When I open the page in Dreamweaver, even though the testing server is properly set up, most of the template shows up in the preview (live), it's just missing all of the images and it doesn't scale properly. If I choose preview in any browser I get this mess and look at the URL. Where did http://127.0.0.1:56565/preview/app/index.html come from? The file name is index.php and it's in the main subdirectory. Entering the localhost URL works just fine. Everything comes in as it should. It doesn't matter what file I am previewing the file name always comes up the same.&nbs
