Questions

Hi, Upgraded to Windows 10 and transported my 4 websites to my new computer. I created a ste file for each stored it in each "website" file and went to manage sites, imported. Everything seemed fine. Only issue is that when I got to pull up a page to edit it, the images won't download to the pic folder. When I imported I did select the correct files through the steps. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

Very satisfied to have the opportunity - for what I asked a time ago - to work with two DW-files, everyone displayed in another screen.   BUT my most fervent wish, was to see and work with the source code in the first screen and the design-/live-view in the second screen of one and the same file.   That desire is not fulfilled, or does someone know the solution ?   Hans-Günter

Hi, I have several simple web sites I maintain.   I purchased and downloaded Dreamweaver 6 from Amazon in August 2012.  Last November I purchased a new computer and have switched my activity over.  I currently have a requirement to update one of the web sites I maintain. I cannot find the old install file I downloaded from Amazon. I checked the Adobe web site and they want $20 per month to use Dreamweaver.  (I currently  subscribe to the Photography Creative Cloud plan.)   I was perfectly content with my old DW 6 version.   Is there anywhere I can obtain a copy of DW 6?   What other options do I have?   Thanks for any help you can provide.

Can this be setup in DW, that when I create a hyperlink, the DEFAULT is to add target="_blank"? I need this desperately and the <base target... is not working within the LMS I use. Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure if I had an example of an extension which used the registerIdleHander() function, I could create a new extension which does what I want. Are there example blank or almost-blank extensions somewhere, as in all the packaging of a Dreamweaver extension with  'hello world' type examples?

Best Adobe Support Community,   Messages sent from my mail form either ended up in spam or was not received at all.  It turned out that "$headers = "From: $name <$email>" was the problem, because a message through a mail form is not necessarily sent from the users email provider (obviously). Hence the domain address entered is different from which it is sent. No wonder...   Before you check out my code observe that x's represent secret information and that "domain.com" is nonspecific.   So I changed to the following (I also included $email in the $message):   $to = "xxx@domain.com"; $subject = "Message from visit at xxx@domain.com"; $message = "From:"."\r\n".$email."\r\n"."Message:"."\r\n".$message; $headers = "reply-to: $email";   Edit: A new problem is the message field... Okay, so now Dreamweaver is "Helping" me out by not updating modified files when I upload them. It doesn't think they are changed even though they are . Fortunately, I have a backup FTP that doesn't seem to suffer from this form of dementia, but it makes things more awkward.  Is there some way to force Dreamweaver to upload a files even if it thinks those files have been modified on the server. Because it's WRONG. It's not a descrepency with the time on the server and that on my machine, this is with files that are months old and I did check the date to be sure.

Ideally one run by Adobe? But, whatever.

Hello all We're using flexbox to build two web pages both featuring a main two column layout that need to be responsive so when viewed on a mobile the right hand column moves underneath the left hand one – the first page needs two columns of equal width and height on it, the second needs two columns where the left hand column is about 60% of the width, right hand column 40%, and both columns are equal in height? Any help much appreciated!

The properties panel is too small for efficient work.It should be resizable in any direction even with sliders inbetween to adjust the individual properties fields.e.g. for following reasons:I adjust many things in code, sometimes it's quicker and more precisely to do it in the properites panel1. the file names for images and links should be shown in total length(to check if it's the correct image b) I often just adjust some letters or have a filename/or text on clipboard I paste into (so don't have to drag/point to files panels)2. in the other fields a lot of text has to go into (e.g. title, alt and title tags of images or links, ... ) 3. the class drop down list could be a visible/scrollable (not a button with popping-up list you have to activate via click firstEither users could make the panel very wide to read long line lengths, or make the panel high, and have the various items of the panels to float automatically beneath eachother, so one could have/dock the panel left or ri

So I am new at Dreamweaver, and I am making my first website for my school assignment.  I have saved my files like this (I still have much left): SITE FOLDER- site.html- images- CSS  When I have my website open, the html codes are greyed out, and I cannot choose to see it in Live View (Not Live Preview in Browser).  It also cannot connect to the server..  

Hello, serious DW newbie here - the last HTML editor I worked with was FrontPage, so needless to say I've got some catching up to do. I was given some HTML code and have managed to connect my server and upload pages. It looks correct on the uploaded page, but locally it seems like the CSS pages are not being recognized, making it hard to work on the page. I'm sure it's something simple, but I'm at a loss to sort it out. Hopefully these screen shots will be enough info. Thanks in advance. 

I have trouble creating a compressed CSS file from SCSS. No matter what I choose, it's always a not compressed CSS file with all comments. It worked on one Mac (tested it on 3 different Macs) but now even on the one Mac it doesn't work anymore (after syncing settings). Any suggestions, what to do? I updated and kept Dreamweaver 2019 in case of problems, to Dreamweaver 2020.When I edit the template and save using version 2019, the children webpages update. The pop up window appears.When I edit the template and save using version 2020, the children webpages do not update. The pop up window is missing on version 2020.Is there a "checkbox" or step I'm missing? In version 2019, I updated the menu in the template and removed a page/link that was no longer needed. I saved and updated the files. In version 2020, I attempted to delete the html file that was no longer necessary and got the warning about all the links that would be affected. There were none. I had modified the menu and updated all the pages, removing the links. Version 2020 seemed to not know this.I then loaded version 2019 and deleted the file with no warning window popping up, which was proper. Please advise.

I've copied the url and scanned the QR code. Neither works. I just get a blank screen. I've checked my cookie settings. I could not find javascript settings on safari on my phone. 

I made a successful template in 2014. Using DW 2019, I made an html, saved it as  template 7 and opened 7a. The template commanda are dimmed. I wanted to make a nested template with editable regions. Can anyone out there help me ? I have read the instructions over and over !Where can I submit this to the expert team? Thanks !

Hi, for some weeks, I have lags and freezes. They may last 30 seconds and during this time i can't touch the code. I discovered that the processus "adobe dreameaver CC 2019 helper" is involved, if I kill it ( they may be several of it, I just have to kill the one who take the more processor time), lags go away. Has  anybody have a better solution than this one ? Maybe an explanation about it.ThanksGilles

I have a perfect html file that I want to save as template and can't. My ultimate goal is to make the file a nested template. I also need to link the menu items and can't find a selection tool...DW 20.0 on Mac 10.13.6........thanks ! Carol  

When I want to open Dreamweaver it loads and then a window appears saying "The last time you opened Dreamweaver CC, it closed unexpectedly when reopening the windows. Do you want to try to reopen the windows again?"Two buttons appear: "do not open" and "Reopen", however if I click on "Reopen" the program will close.You can help me?

I want to format the source code of a complete site, of all HTML/PHP/CSS files in all the directories of the site.How can I do that without opening each file manually and performing the command "Edit > Code > Apply Source Formatting" for each file?If that is not possible:What do you think about the idea as a feature for next version of DW?Thanks.

I'm in need of some help and I just can't figure out what I need to search to get my answer...so...I'm coming to you all ready to learn. I have just started Web Design as a Graphic Designer and I got my first job. Even though it might just be my dad's business website I've been putting in a lot of time updating new Technical Manuals from the state. Anyone who has hired a creative likes updates from them. That is my huge issue right now. The current process of sharing the updates that I have done I have to "save as" the .php doc with a new name, and re-put it on the website so he can then look at it on his computer.   TL;DR: I need to share DW updates with client 1500 miles away and don't know the best way to do it.   Thank you for the help!

This is my first website using Dreamweaver and it's for my company that I work for.  Some of the images work, and others are just grey, I've tried what seems like everything making sure the naming is exact, saving as different files and nothing seems to be working. When I'm working on the code everything works and looks fine in the preview but when I upload and go live half of them don't work. I have fixed some but broken others and I'm not sure exactly what it was that worked on the ones I fixed. Here is an example http://iconconsultantgroup.com/project%20-%20planning.html One picture is working and the other three are not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since mid-December 2019 I have been unable to connect to  my webserver using FTP in Dreamweaver v. 20.00. I can connect using FileZilla Client . What settings do I need in Dreamweaver v. 20 to conect please?
