I have just upgraded to DW CC 2017, to find that my CF comments are no longer correctly displayed (grayed out), but only when it contains other comments embedded. This must be a bug, because regular CF comments ARE grayed out, when they do not have other comments embedded.  By not allowing cf commented text (when it contains other cf comments), it is nearly impossible to tell what is commented out, and what is not?   I have had to go back to DW 2015, since DW2017 is not usable at all, if you have small amounts of CF code.  I am not using CF builder, and will not, since I don't do that much cf coding.Here is an example:screenshot of DW2017 useless handling of CF commenting:screenshot of DW2015 handling of CF commenting (pink is my commented-out color):Adobe has so disrupted and ruined the flow of using it's products.  DW use to be a great all around tool, not I don't know why you would use it??  Our company used to have 27 subscriptions to DW.  Not we'

In previous versions, including Dreamweaver 2016, if you used Coldfusion commenting it would highlight the commented code in bright yellow (so you knew it was disabled). It appears now it is not highlighting properly. I was thinking it may have something to do with the document type being set to HTML but when I looked for an option to change it to Coldfusion, there is no option to do so.I will try to explain my issue. If I had some code that included coldfusion comments...I could comment out sections of code in my document (including lines with comments) by simply wrapping everything with a surrounding comment tag. You can still do this, but the highlighting doesn't show all the code enclosed in the outer wrapping comment tag as being disabled. This makes it very confusing when you are trying to test and debug sections that you have commented out.See screenshot. I read that this issue was fixed and downloaded the pre-release as told by staff. It worked great for 3 days and nowis giving the same problems as before. Can you please tell why this is happening so it can be prevented? Or can you please credit my account as i am paying monthly for broken software?

Hi!Can someone take a look at my code and see what I have done wrong. I'm designing a website from scratch but for some reason, my jQuery isn't working properly. For example, I created a dropdown menu for "login" and it won't work. Do I need a seperate document for jquery? I'm only familiar with html and css so I'm not sure how this works. I have a transparent png but it doesn't show as transparent in dreamweaver or any browser.When I roll over it in the code it shows as correctly transparent in the code preview but always has a background in the browsers.Can't find any answers to this.  I tried adding a css transparent background to it but that doesn't do anything either.

I did an update on Windows 10 and now my DW CS3 says it will stop working after 5 days if I don't activate. I have read the forum discussions of this problem. I uninstalled, got a new serial number, reinstalled by clicking the online link. Between the two I ran the Creative Cloud cleaning tool which said "no Dreamweaver found to clean".  I've never been asked for the new serial number and reinstalling only gives me the original DW with original serial number and same warning that it will stop working in 5 days. I've done this four time with same results. I have verified between installation that the DW is no longer on my laptop. I have two days left in the 5 day period and use DW daily so don't want to lose it. Please tell me what to do next. Thanks. Dale

I recently opened a template file just to check it out. I noticed the dashed blue lines around the elements. Super Handy!! My question, how the heck do I turn those on? I'm still fairly new to coding and would find that little feature super handy!!

:i use dreamweaver cc 2017.i created a home page with a masthead section, which has an imaga as its background, and text on top.when i am working on it, it looks nice, picture on top, text nicely formatted. I use css3, and it works in dreamweaver.when i  transfer (put) the file to my hosting company, i do not get the image, the image is missing, the text is crowded, and it looks ugly.i deleted the file from the server and reloaded it dozens of times, re did the css files, but each time there is no background and my text overlaps.since i am stubborn, i have been doing this for 8 hours.why is my page not “putting” properly?i tested, and ftp is working.

I've added an audio mp3 file to my older version of Dreamweaver MX. Works great but it autoplays everytime the page loads and I need that to stop. I've read through the forum and have tried the fix of adding a code to the parameters (autoplay="false") but it still won't stop. I'm managing a group of subpages on a company CMS.  To achieve what I need to, I'm using html within a rich text module styled on-page.  In a perfect world, I'd make it an external stylesheet for one and done changes.  Of course, the CMS doesn't support this.So... Is there a way in DW to have a pseudo external stylesheet where I can make changes and it appears on each page for when I copy & paste the code into the component?  Snippets is close, but  I would still need to make the changes on one of the pages, copy it to my snippet, then remove the current style section and replace with the snippet.Any thoughts?

Two years ago, it was also a concern for me but many things change for good or for bad, for that reason I bring to the attention the topic about the optimal workflow for a good form validation. I heard in the last weeks MANY kinds of validation:- Through HTML 5- Client side validation- Server side validation- Customized validation (I read this in the bootstrap documentation).- Browser validation- Bootstrap classes for validation ("has-success", "has-danger", and so on...)- PHP, JavaScript, jQuery validation...So, I don't think that is possible to use all of them, it might be even useless. But, is it possible to use two of them? For example: bootstrap validation plus server side? What is a good trend today for this? If I choose two kinds of validation, that means to use two kinds of coding. It might br some complicated how to place the tags or scripts in the code editor, right? Or should I just choose the one easier for me, because in our days all might more secure than last year for ex

Hi, I have created a table and a stylesheet. I insert the HTML into Muse and the stylesheet in assets. For the desktop version of my site, this works perfectly. However, the same code does not work for the mobile version of my page. I have not published my site and am testing in my browser locally. So I dropped an image into Dreamweaver from Photoshop, and I'm wanting to create HotSpots so that when customers click on certain images they are then taken to certain URLs. I built the image and input a link, however when I drop it into Salesforce Marketing Cloud's email studio it has the link for the entire image and not just the Hotspots. Anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong or links to resources regarding HotSpots? As you can probably tell I'm very new to this so any help is greatly appreciated.

I have had a large set of custom snippets that I have moved from version to version of Dreamweaver for years. With the most recent upgrade to CC 2018 the old method of finding them in the configuration folder on the local drive does not work. During the upgrade, it asked me if I wanted to enable cloud sync. I said no, not knowing this would be needed to get the custom snippets. I have since attempted to enable syncing, but have not been able to get the custom snippets back. How can I restore them? Is there a way to store them locally?

So I'm very new to Dreamweaver, and I'm trying to create a HotSpot within a PSD File on Dreamweaver, and I'm running into some trouble. After I upload the PSD file to my email service provider it just puts the link for the whole picture and not just the spot on the picture I need. Does anyone know I how to make sure that I specifically link it to that one place on my picture?
