The latest copy of DW is very unstable. It constantly crashes. Also when I click on one of my linked file such as .css or .js that file does not show properly. Please fix this edition of Dreamweaver.

I have a folder (and it's files) in the list of Local Files view which needs to be removed, with all it's files.On the highlighted folder name, the right hand click menu shows a Delete option, which then asks 'Do I wish to delete the File(s)' (and presumably any links as well.) What it doesn't say is if it refers to the highlighted folder (and it's files), or folders and files in list below as well.Over the years I've made a habit of losing things in Dreamweaver, and don't want a repeat.

After 10 years of doing it wrong, I thought I would try to get a correct answer before I go back and redo 1k+ file names.Previously a typical file Name would be:0583_Evan_Sante-AppleiPhone_iPhotography_Balu_ArtDeco_Graffiti_Female_Portrait_YellowHair_Bowler_Hat_Bolo_Tie_Attitude_190Bowery_EastVillage_NYC_NewYorkI would use underscores to separate keywords and CamelCase to separate multiple word concepts.As I just found out dashes are preferred over underscore but which is better regarding concepts:New_York_City or NewYorkCity? After a few days of research, It seems like Google treats them the same but I can’t find anything definitive?Also how does Google treat Hashtags in file Names? If anyone knows a good resource forum for these types of questions, Does Google have such a thing or definitively knows the answer I would be grateful. - CES

I have used a third party tool to resize some images. I ran one pass to set a max width of 400px with the proportions kept relative. I ran a second pass to set a max height of 450px which only affected any portrait images. In any viewer all images look fine.My understanding is that if an image has been resized within DreamWeaver and is not showing at its full size, then the sizes are shown in bold in Properties. It used then to be possible to click an icon so that it would be shown full size.When I put them into DreamWeaver 2017 the images are thus being displayed at their new full size. However, the size shows in bold and there is only a Toggle Size Constrain icon, the Reset Size icon does not display.As the images are full size, why is the size showing in bold type implying they are not.Also, I tried to search the online help. I can find the DreamWeaver help but the only search appears to cover all products. I couldn't see a way to search Toggle Size Constrain in DreamWeaver only.

Hi,I'm on Windows 10 running Mamp Pro for Windows. To preview a site I normally go to "http://domain/", however I'd like to setup a local testing server so I can use the real time preview in Dreamweaver as it seems useful. The document root set for my domain in Mamp Pro is "C:\Users\Name\Documents\Dreamweaver\domain". This is also where my local files are kept.However, it's not working for me. When I preview a page it pulls the file url (C:\Users\Name\Documents\Dreamweaver\domain\wp-content\themes\mytheme\contacts.php) rather than the web url that I'd normally visit (domain/contacts) which I think is the issue -- though I'm not really sure.Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?Cheers

I'm trying to get my head around the integrity of the check-in/check out process on a large web site (700 pages) that uses lots of library items in each page and whose library items appear in many pages.I get the simple outline in user help, the page you check out looks for all dependent files like library items and images and checks them out too, so controlling only one person can edit content at the same time.After checking out and editing content you check them back in and if a library item has been edited then that in turn updates all other pages with that librray item, checking them out too.What I think happens also, but I'm not 100% certain is that in addition to updating the individual library item in another page, it also updates the other library items within that pageTo keep integrity, I presume a  check needs to be performed that more current library items are not available on the web server rather than available  locally.This would trigger a cascade of similar che

All links in my website become root relative instead of document relative. Images, boilerplate, all of them. I tried everything. First changing it in the site manager but it jumps back every time. For my other website the same happens. There the links are already “document relative” in the site manager – but not in reality. All jump immediately to root-relative.When I make a new page from the template (in which all links are doc-relative),  the links all jump to root-relative. Which is really a big problem, because in pages I can change them, but not what I cannot edit because it can only be edited in the template itself. For the time being I use pages which are ok to make now pages, but I don’t dare to change anything in the template and then update things. Ok Guys and Girls I need your help. Should be simple but I am not seeing clearly at the moment.What I want to do is when a checkbox is clicked the discount price gets removed from the current total. If I have rounded up figures like below 35.00 and the discount price 15.00 it works ok. Clicking and unclicking the checbox functions. As soon as I use something like 35.50 and 15.50 it goes haywire. I know its something to to with parseInt( ) rounding down the numbers BUT if I remove that then not even the rounded up figures work.Full test code below. How do I create a page that allows users to upload a graphic or text for me to output and deliver back to them, adding to a cart?

Hi, my name is LadaHaving some Z index issues, and trying to rectify them. Tried a few different ways, all unsuccessful.What I am trying to do:Trying to make a z index area smaller with a scrollbar.Why?When my z indexed area appears, the contents go beyond the area I wish to have them stay in. My day job has me auditing the data entry of other people in batches of html documents. One of the things we need to search for is empty cells in tables (and often nested tables). Given we need to crank through 150+ per week, visually hunting down all the possible empty cells can be a bit of a repetitive chore. I would love to use the "find/replace" tool to just search all the documents in a batch so I can just work my way down the list. Even better would be to search for all <td> tags that have a non-breaking space character ( ) and assign an attribute that gives is a starkly obvious highlight color so I don't have to keep the search results open.Here's the problem: Doing a search for a specific tag containing   doesn't find anything. Putting a space in the "containing" field in the search box just lists all the table cells that have blocks of text but not the empty cells.Additional complication: The person who put together the "templates" that the build team is using

I know html quite well, and css reasonably well. I built my website more than 20 years ago, and always loved Dreamweaver. But since a half year or so images will not show when I upload the page. It started with pages which I uploaded before uploading the image, but it still worked fine when I first uploaded the image and only afterwards the page. Now the images don't show at all. There is no difference if I upload the pictures first or after the page. Online I only see the little squares. After a few days they appear, but I need them right away. When I want to show a customer the paintings he/she asked for, I have to show them immediately. Is it Dreamweaver which doesn't work right, or is it a glitch of browsers? It is identical in all browsers, so it is not just one browser. That looks to me as if Dreamweaver causes it. Anyone knows of this problem?Lotti

I'm trying to embed PHP code inside an HTML page with a .html file extension. If I look at the local file using MAMP with a browser, it displays correctly. However, Dreamweaver refuses to parse the PHP content properly when it's located in an HTML file. Is there someway to enable this, like modifying a .htaccess file on a real server to accomplish the same thing?

Colleagues code displays fine but when I open same file some characters are displayed one per line to far right of display window.I am using split screen. Have tried "apply source formatting" and "word wrap". Preferences are the same between 2 computers. Thanks

We have many different corporate websites that need to be built for financial services and consulting. We want to launch live proof of concepts and then migrate to a more full featured platform in parallel, there are four groups of websites however have not yet decided whether to separate the installs or group them all together, it depends on the product. We were thinking the live POC Muse and production AEM, but the question is the themes and content integration times, we are looking at apple.com quality however on speaking with partners it is all over the place, so really don't have a lot of confidence in their honesty. Hi! I am a new developer and trying to code a simple online registration page - I have made a form with fill-in text boxes for each section of my form I wish someone to register to my page with - first name, last name, email, username, password, and a submit button.I am following a youtube tutorial to make a online registration and "sign in/sign out" site, and I have set up a myphp database to go along. Here is my issue - in the tutorial the man is using an older and much-different version of Dreamweaver and in the tutorial he states to go the 'bindings' tab for the form and then select the option to 'save the data'. I do not have a bindings tab on the right-sidebar where he has it and I am wondering if it is buried somewhere in the options or I am doing something completely wrong. One thing I don't have is my Dreamweaver attached to a server in the 'site options' so I am wondering if this may be the issue.I apologize for my terms as I am new to coding and am unfamiliar with the jargon

Is there a way to test your site for android devises without actually owning an android devise?

I have been converting Powerpoint slide shows to a Presenter slide show and then opening this with Dreamweaver.  Recently the Presenter output has not been opening with Dreamweaver 4CS.  (I keep getting a message to enable JavaScript, but I've done this and still no success.)  I updated Presenter and Powerpoint upon the advice of Adobe chat staff.  Still no success.  I realize that Dreamweaver 4CS is not supported but am reluctant to use the cloud based newest version without some certainty that it will work.  Is there a compatibility issues using Dreamweaver 4CS opening Presenter 11 output?  If so, will Dreamweaver 6CS open the Presenter output?  In short, how do I overcome this problem since my entire web site depends upon the answer?

Hello all,At the moment I have a strange thing going on.I have created a <div> that is 1104 px wide, and is centred in this way :#pmetxt {  width: 1104px;  height: auto;  min-height: 100%;  margin-left: -552px;  left: 50%;  position: absolute;  z-index: 10;  top: 0px;}When I use a browser it centres right and all content is visible.But when I use an iPad or iPhone it als centres nice, but on the left and right side, partly of the content is cut off.I can scroll to the right, and then I can see the rest on the right side, but not on the left side.The link to my test page is : http://pme-tecnica.nl/test_siteIs there a way to solve this?CheersKoen
