Blank Pop up Windows

I have been having a problem with an installation of Reader. The pop up window for printing options is showing up with no text on the buttons. Someone advised me to check 'preferences' but that window is also blank [no text] so I cannot adjust anything. I have used the adobe cleaning tool and reinstalled but still have the same problem.

I am running Vista home on an Acer Laptop.

As a test, try setting the video driver to VGA or SVGA with an 800 x 600 resolution. Then see what you get. If it works then you probably have a video driver issue.
