Hi,  flex-pmd:report fails with this error if no violations are found: An error has occurred in Flex PMD Report report generation. There is no further info.  It does not happen if there's any violation. I have tried both with and without failOnError. I do specify ruleSet. FlexPmd version is 1.0.RC4.  Any ideas?Thanks in advance,  Alex

Just yesterday my project swfs were updating every time I saved, which is exactly what I wanted.  Now today, even though it rebuilds the project, the screen is blank white!  It's only after I run "clean", every time, that I can see my changes in the browser.What can this be from?  I'm using the nightly builds of Flex 4 in Flex Builder 3.Thanks so much,Lance

Hello, I have tried to get this example working but I am getting the following error when I compile:TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.    at flashx.textLayout.compose::StandardFlowComposer/internalCompose()    at flashx.textLayout.compose::StandardFlowComposer/compose()    at PaginationWidget/recomputeContainers()    at PaginationWidget/set textFlow()    at PaginationAS/setChapter()    at PaginationAS()I also had to delete the reference to the '${DOCUMENTS}/libs-460' directory in the build library path for it will compile.  I am using the updated version of this example too. Help!

I am making an app as an Actionscript Only project, the target size should be around 100k.  I added TLF and it grew from 100k to around 250k, with the addition of two selectable containers in a single TextFlow.  I want to use this functionality, but don't want this to consume that much bandwidth. I looked into using the RSL swz version of TLF, but it doesn't seem possible to use that with an Actionscript only project and converting it to a Flex project will only increase the size and dependencies on external libraries. I am quite frustrated because the promise of fast and comprehensive text manipulation has been one of the greatest appeals of FP10.I thought perhaps that I was missing something obvious and went to see if I could build some simple functionality on top of FTE but that is seriously low level. I thought that the TextField class could have been upgraded to work using the FTE, and have multiple field selection capabilities...My questions are:1) Why isn't TLF include

Hi,I am working on an AS3 project, compiling with mxmlc from Flex 4 beta 2 SDK. I am having a problem with mxmlc generating (what seems to be) some Flex style classes and putting them in my SWF. I only notice this classes when I view my SWF in a decompiler. This is causing the Flex framework to be compiled into my SWF, making it about 150k bigger. If I exclude flex classes from being included via -external-library-path I obviously get a runtime error since the Flex classes are not available.The problem seems to stem that I am putting class on the 2nd frame of my SWF by using the highly undocumented [Frame] metadata tag. If I remove this tag, the Flex style classes are not inserted into my SWF. How can I stop mxmlc from injecting these classes into my SWF?

Is it possible to mask a text flow with a movieclip to overlay the text? for example :usually we would just use the textfield for masking to get this effect. apparently this is not possible from our tests. is there a work around for this?thanks,steve

Just keeping on top of the nightly builds to make sure I don't slip too far behind, and I've made the relevant changes where EditManager is concernednoFocusSelectionFormat -> unfocusedSelectionFormatfocusSelectionFormat -> focusedSelectionFormatselectAll() -> setSelection(0, editManager.absoluteEnd?) (not sure on this one)But the one that stopped me was that SelectionEvent no longer contained a reference to an ElementRange which I was using heavily to traverse the TLF "DOM", from firstParagraph to lastParagraph.I've reverted to a previous Gumbo nightly so no problems at all, but I wondered if there was any info on upcoming changes with regards to this last point (getting an ElementRange from a selection)?

I want to use latest build with Flex 3.3 sdk but in labs.adobe.com there is only 2008 november, and is there eny build that is same as last one in flex4 sdk but working swc for using with flex 3.Or what is the reason if there isnt't ( it depends on flex 4 sdk somehow?). I have been working with the TLF for the past week and a half. It started out quite rocky do to the various version differences. I tried, in Flex 3, the Beta 2 SDK (4.0.0.10485) and later builds to embed fonts with no success even with the ‘cff’ changed to ‘embedAsCFF’ the font swf would still fail to embed properly. I even tried the same process in Flash Builder 4 with no such luck.I finally came to a working embed / loading scheme.                                                                                             &nbsp

FlexUnitCompilerApplication.mxml is generated by Flash Builder Beta 2, not sure why. hi, i have some data that is generated from a database and loaded into flash, my problem is that this data should change when a user chooses product. how can i have the data inside the created textflow using as3? below are some of the code i user plese help so that i can update or even delete this textflow span.text = ms[index].pdescription; // is the text loaded for the first time ? i need to be able to change this text

Hi,I'm using an autocomplete component which extends ComboBox. Unfortunately it no longer compiles under the Flex 4 SDK. The problem is that ComboBase defines:protected var textInput:ITextInput;which used to be a simple TextInput. The problem now is that textInput does not have setSelection or selectionBeginIndex properties.Any ideas how to get around this ?Thanks,Grant.

Working with TextLayoutFormat...I can't see the difference between the format property (FlowElement class) and hostFormat property (TextFlow class).Can someone be more explicit than the actual documentation ?

How does one get the equivalent of contentHeight property of a textLayout component instance?I'm trying to get the actual height of the whole of the text content inside the component instance, but all i can target is the instance itself, and all i can get from that is the height of the instance...Any help is appreciated!
