Question

The Illustrator app keeps crashing on iPadOS 26.4.2.

The Illustrator app keeps crashing when trying open or create a new project. Was working before the iPadOS 26.4 update. And I even updated to iPadOS 26.4.2 version to no avail. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache and shut it all down. I have a 9th generation ipad. What is the resolution to this issue?

    Hello,

I am facing a critical bug with Adobe Illustrator on iPad after updating to iPadOS 26.5. The app has been working perfectly fine for me since 2021 without any issues, but now it is completely broken.

    Here is the exact problem:

    1. The app crashes to the home screen the exact split second the internet is turned on (Wi-Fi or cellular) due to some cloud sync conflict.

    2. NOW, even when I am completely offline, the app has stopped importing and exporting any files. The import/export functions are completely frozen or non-responsive.

    3. I have already reinstalled the app dozens of times, cleared the cache, restarted the device, and verified my account. Nothing helps on the local side.

Because of these combined bugs, I have just lost 3 days of my professional work when the app collapsed. Now I cannot even work offline because import/export is broken.

As a professional illustrator and long-time Adobe user, this is an absolute disaster for my workflow. Please escalate this to the Mobile App Engineering Team immediately. The local file management and cloud sync are completely corrupted on iPadOS 26.5

It may be better to ask your questions on the Illustrator iPad forum:

@Люда+Лисак Which iPad OS are you using?

Works fine on 26.5 for me.

    iPad OS  26.5. iPad Air (3) 2019.
After the update it is impossible to work. There is a place on the iPad

    Hello,

I am facing a critical bug with Adobe Illustrator on iPad after the latest iPadOS update, and the automated customer service was unable to help.

Here is the exact problem: 1. The app has been working perfectly fine for me since 2021 without any issues until the latest iPadOS update. Now it only works offline (I can open a document and draw a circle). 2. However, the exact second the internet is turned on (Wi-Fi or cellular), the app instantly crashes to the iPad home screen. 3. This is a 100% server-side license or cloud synchronization compatibility bug with the new iPadOS update. 4. I have already reinstalled the app dozens of times, cleared the cache, restarted the device, and verified my account. Nothing helps on the local side.

Because of this synchronization crash, I have just lost 3 days of my professional work when the app collapsed during an export attempt.

As a professional illustrator and long-time Adobe user, this is a disaster for my workflow. Please escalate this to the Mobile App Engineering Team. We need a hotfix for this iPadOS cloud sync conflict immediately

Are there still no updates on this problem? I shared links to download analytics reports with Anubhav 15 days ago and I see no one has checked these files. This problem is literally blocking my business.

I sent stuff 8 days ago. Got a reply that it was being sent. Nothing since. Very annoying. I do about 25% of my work while mobile, really hurting my work flow right now. I did notice if I’m not connected to Wi-Fi I can do more work, but it’s still really slow and buggy. Then I reconnect to Wi-Fi and try to let it load up my work. Then I can pull my files on to my PC from the cloud to finish working. Hope that will help you to at least get some work going.

an update on a fix would be really nice. It seems like a really widespread issue now.

This issue has been ongoing for nearly a month with no fix or meaningful update. I have more than 200 students who rely on Illustrator for a technology module we are currently running at our school. We pay for this software specifically because it is required for our curriculum, so it needs to function reliably.

At the moment, multiple members of my team are scrambling to find alternative software just to keep classes running. This disruption is affecting teaching, student learning, and planning across the department.

We urgently need Adobe to acknowledge this issue properly and provide a resolution as soon as possible.

Ever since updating to iPadOS 26.4.2, i can’t open or create a project as illustrator keeps crashing. Other people are gaving problems as well. Uninstalling it, restarting iPad, and reinstalling it doesn’t solve the issue.

    Hello @WyleeKai

I understand how frustrating it can be to experience crashes in Illustrator, especially in the middle of work. Would you mind sharing the crash report so that we can investigate this further:

    • Open iPad Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. You will see file names like “Illustrator-2023-01-03-083327.ips” (2023-01-03 is the date in the log & 083327 is the time). Ensure you share the recent log file after the crash by looking at the timestamp.

    • Upload the file to a file-sharing service and share a link to the file here or via DM.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
