CS6 Will Not Export Adobe InDesign Tagged Text

I am using: CS6 (8.1) on Mac Mini (late 2012) OSX El Capitan (10.11.6).

When I select text on InDesign page, File -> Export -> Adobe InDesign Tagged Text -> Verbose or Abbreviated -> ASCII, I get a blank text file.

Is there a pref or checkbox I need to turn on or off to make this happen?

Blank on TextEdit, too.


CS6 is unsupported under El Capitan and later Mac systems.

Beyond trashing your preferences, you’re on your own, unfortunately.

    Export documents in InDesign

    Following steps 1-4 in that document (and on Mac OS: 10.11.6, InDesign: 8.1):

    I am getting this in Text Edit:

      What application are you using to open the .txt file? Here is one of them in Word:

        I am using TextWrangler simple text file format to view text.

        I previously have successfully exported tagged text using the process in the documentation (File -> Export -> Adobe InDesign Tagged Text ). I'm not sure why it won't work now.
