Possible to text wrap around frame only when the frame is visible?

I have a document where I juggle two languages thru keeping the text boxes for the two languages in difference layers.

However, when a text frame (in this case the caption for a picture) is of different sizes for the two languages (layers) I would like the text to wrap around this frame only when it is visible.

At present I have to set the smaller frame (for the language which has a shorter picture description) to text wrap around and then for the other language I have to make manual line breaks to make space for the lager text frame for the caption (because if I switch on text wrap for that frame, this text wrap will also be active when I hide this layer (language A) and show the other layer (language B).
An alternative (which is used in the attached file) is to let the space for the caption be the same for both languages, but this creates a white space in the language B version.

Is it a way to set the properties for the text wrap of a frame so that it is only active when the frame is visible?
