P: Generative Remove Feedback (Lr Classic & Lr Eco)

It was the case in all my session yesterday. For some reason, today, simply regenerating the same spots gives better results (but still blurry)."

Generative AI Remove often doesn't match the surrounding noise/grain with replacement patches.  Sometimes running Denoise first significantly improves the match.  If that doesn't help, please attach a full-resolution JPEG exported from the unmodified original photo (not a screenshot) and attach a screenshot showing what you've selected for Remove. That will let us see more precisely what the issue might be.

PS and LR use the same Adobe Firefly Generative AI Remove, though their user interfaces are different, and they have different other remove modes (e.g. Heal, Clone, and Content-Aware in LR). So when comparing Generative Remove in the two apps, in LR make sure you've got Remove mode selected with Use Generative AI selected:

and in PS make sure Mode: Generative AI On is selected:

If you encounter an example where Generative Remove behaves differently in the two apps, it would be good to post an example here (with unmodified, full-resolution JPEGs).  To date, no one has posted an example where the two apps differ.

Often, Remove doesn't match tones well in flat tonal areas, as in your example. Sometimes you can fix that by selecting a larger area:

(You can get rid of the newly added wall outlet with a second application of Remove.)

Other techniques for ameliorating a tone mismatch: make the selection more raggedy; use short strokes with the Heal tool around the boundary to get better feathering; use the Brush mask and set Texture, Clarity, and Sharpness low to blur the area.

If you select a face but leave parts of the body unselected, even parts that are disconnected, Remove will generate a replacement that tries to match that body. Select all of the body along with the face.

The older Clone, Heal, and Content-Aware modes are still available:

Use the Clone or Heal mode for dust spots -- much faster, doesn't use Adobe severs. And just as good.

LR does a good job of removing the wire from your screenshot:

Most likely you've applied Remove on top of a Sky mask. Do Settings > Update AI Settings to recompute the Sky mask. See this short article for Adobe's recommended order in which to apply editing operations:

@Pinner Photographer: "the user interface is all over the place. I get half a box showing me the optional results that tries to display before the replace is complete. There is then some screen redrawing on the right panel and focus seems to come and go."

First troubleshooting steps:

1. Restart your computer.

2. Update your graphics driver by going directly to the manufacturer's web site:

3. Reset LR's preferences:

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

4. Do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

Many users speak there has been an update.
Did we really get a new Model for remove?

Because I see the same Model version for my old files and for those edited  now.

i.e

Before : 1.0.5-beta.1-1.2_1.2-8c2cea4-0.1.27.1r16.2,
Now:     1.0.5-beta.1-1.2_1.2-8c2cea4-0.1.27.1r16.2 

Some images have :  1.0.5-beta.1-1.2_1.2-8c2cea4-a6

Which rarely happened also with LrC 13

And this brings me to my complain: why is never possible to chose the Model version NOR is even mentions which one is in place?

Midjourney show the version used for the Generative Content

Adobe doens't.

We can never tell which MV was used.

We have ProcessVersion in LrC visible and selectable but not ModelVersion for Remove or even AI Masking.

The only two users here that can tell which MV is in used by each Remove Ai are @johnrellis and me.

1. Uncheck Detect Objects -- it doesn't work well, especially with skinny objects and along the edges of photos. 

2. If you applied Remove on top of an AI mask (e.g. Sky or Subject mask), do the menu command Settings > Update AI Settings to recompute the mask.
