Since the latest versions of Lightroom Classic and MacOS the masking of people always shows “No people found” – even on photos where it was working before.

    @sirthrosturv, @Hot Tubs Oxfordshire, there are many reports that People masking fails on Intel Macs with Mac OS 26.3, and the evidence strongly points at a buggy AMD graphics driver released in 26.3:

    While waiting for Apple and AMD to release a fixed driver, try this workaround:

    @Hot Tubs Oxfordshire I intalled Mac OS Sequoia on an external drive (since it appears impossible to downgrade Tahoe) and people detection is no an issue when runnig Lightroom under that OS on the iMac.

    That’s further evidence it’s a bug in the Mac OS 26.3 AMD graphics driver.

    Same problem on my iMac 3,8 GHz Intel Core i7 8 core + AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB. Always “no people found”, also with a studio portrait.

    On my MacBook Air M2, no problems.

    I feel very angry.

    @GCPhoto73 There may not be a fix. See here for details and the only known workaround:

    I am using a Mac desktop with LR, I have never had this issue before. Maybe due to an update? I have tried every setting check I could find on google to resolve the issue but the “people” masking is still not working, it says “no people detected”. This is even on photos I have recently edited and have eyes, skin etc. masking in place. HELP!

    @Wil1305 Currently no solution

    There are several reports that rolling back to Mac OS 26.3 works around the problem with the AMD graphics drivers. See this article for options on how to do that:

    "No people found" in LR CC Masking tool. I have sent Help messages to Adobe and posted several inquiries, including AI.  No replies or adequate solutions offered.  Can you assist?  Thank you!
