Pop up : Must upgrade catalog. is constantly coming back.

Lightroom Classic/ Windows 11

 

When opening LR C I get a pop-up: Your catalog is being updated to access the latest changes in this newer version of LR.  A compressed copy of your current catalog is stored in the location below ....

3 options appear: 1 Close. 2 Perform upgrade. 3 Choose other catalog.

When I choose 2 or 3 the same pop-up appears again and again . So I can not open LR C. What can be the matter?

In LrC /Preferences/General/ what do you have for Default Catalog?

 

In example below I have clicked on that field and some options are shown

 

 

I suspect yours is a specific catalog

Default is most Recent

Standard catalogue. When starting, use the following catalog: Load most recent catalog.

This setting has apparently always worked properly. Until now.

And I changed it now into an older catalogue, but I got immediately the same error message, this pop-up....
