Hi Fellow users, I am using a remote shared object in my Flash Media Server project for the first time. My purpose of using a rso is to update data in real-time accross multiple clients.Ok, I like to store a list of users who are connected to my application. And when a client disconnects I want the object updated to all other clients connected and the online status list is revised.I dont know what the best approach is for this... Is it possible to use the onSync event? And put the clients in an array and when their properties are changed the server is dispatched and updated. Or, would you recommend other alternatives? Interested to hear your thoughts and opinions guys. Thanks
I'm trying to accomplish the following:my swf has a ?token= at the endonConnect i strip the ?token= and need to pass it to www.domain.com/authenticate.php?token=<token>if domain.com returns 1, I allowthis.acceptConnection(clientObj);otherwise, I reject the connection.I am aware of how to do the rest, I can't seem to find how to make a call to www.domain.com/authenticate.php and retrieve its response (body)any help would be great!
I wonder if someone could help me with a small problem. I am currently evaluating Adobe AMS 5.01. Everything is set up and functioning as I expected it to. My question is around the implementation of Live HDS or Http Dynamic Streaming. I have set up a live feed from Adobe flash Media Encoder. I am able to access the live stream via a Flowplayer player embeded in a webpage. So far so good. I have looked in the relevant folder (../livepkgr/streams/_definst_/livestream for the LiveStreamSeg files and they are present. My problem is that if I stop the stream, and restart it, instead of creating a new series of Livestreamseg files, the livepkgr uses the files that are already there from the previous time the live stream was initiated. This causes the player to display a stream that is not in synch with the live stream being generated by the media encoder. Is there any way that these files can be cleared from the the server each time a liv

We are streaming H.264 video to the dvrcast application using RTMP streaming. Everything is working fine, though we are noticing some unacceptable load times when loading large videos for playback that have been recorded this way. I found http://forums.adobe.com/message/3399973#3399973 which offers some suggestions. I will be looking into post-processing the video to defragment it, but I'm also interested in HDS. Is it possible to use HDS with dvrcast streams that were recorded to mp4 via RTMP streaming? I tried the HDS URL convention - http://server/dvrcast_origin/stream_name.f4m but this isn't working. Are there other suggestions for improving load times for long videos with the dvrcast application?
Hi,I'm in need of the following:1-User A connects to FMS to the live application, and plubish a stream named "streamA".2-User B connects to FMS to the live application, and publish a stream named "streamB".3-Clients play a live stream named "main", which switch to the last live stream that has been published. If there is not any live stream, the "main" stream simulate a live stream from recorded files.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.Kind Regards,Robert
I would like to configure AMS in order to stream RTMP VOD contents that are located on another HTTP server.Example:Server Http AMS input Video Player (rtmp)video -------------> video -----------> videoCan someone help me and explain me how I can configure AMS in order to have an HTTP input?Thank you.
I am interested in a tool that can access a clients webcam and begin recording from their device. When the time is up, it should store that recorded video to a server. Then, of course, the files can be accessed. Streaming is of less significance than simply capturing and accessing video from a clientCan I do this with only Adobe Media Server Standard Edition?Bearing in mind, I may need to be capturing video from multiple clients at one time. Is this limited by the fact that Standard only allows "one-way broadcasts?"Thanks,Carl

Hi,my name is Robin Schröder. I am a member of the univertity “Hochschule Hamm Lippstadt” from Germany. We r using the adobe connect already. We wanna create offline videos of meeting records and publish them over adobe media server. The offline videos are in the .flv format.Do I have to convert the .flv into mp4 (h264 & AAC) before streamable with hds and hls?I read about f4fpackager that this program can convert .flv into .f4m – but it failed with error 999….. I checked the .flv file with flvcheck before: success! The sample Video worked fine.So my question:We wanna publish all .flv recordings over the Adobe Media Server (VODs). What is the easiest way to achieve this? Convert .flv in a streaming format (mp4?) - HOW?Create multi-bitrate versions from the video - HOW?Create f4m file for adaptive bitrate streaming - manually?Publish hds & hls URL in the html site (decryption for url possible?)How can I realize a iPad/iPod/iPhone switch in the html Code for HLS/HDS switch? Thanks!
Hello,AMS/FMS already supports HTML5 video playback, which is great. However, more users every day are asking about support to record videos using HTML5. Many users just read an article about getUserMedia and ask us if we plan on supporting this for recording. The truth is, we don't know what and how Adobe plans on supporting this in Adobe Media Server. Can someone comment on the status of recording streams using HTML5 and the time expected to be eventually supported? Thanks!
We're using the new FMS (or AMS, sorry), video delivery method which incorporates manifest files to play back f4m files.Works great, I especially appreciate being able to view the videos on iOS devices. One caveat...After the videos play, I always get a little box that pops up in the center of the screen that says "Buffering" , with a little loading-type animation that goes with it.Is there a way to prevent that "Buffering" message from appearing? It makes it appear that there's more video yet to play, or another video is about to start, etc. Any tips on prevening the appearance of that Buffering message? Thanks! How do I prevent the above from appearing at the end of my videos?

What are the supporting file types for AMS 5.0.1 Closed Captioning feature?
What is the difference between HDS and HLS Streaming?
I need to know the upload and download bandwidths between client and FMS server. I think I can use the ActionScript 3.0 native bandwidth detection for the download bandwidth from the server, but can't find a tool for uplad bandwidth calculation. Does this native bandwidth detection also provide the upload bandwidth information? If not, any other tool provided by FMS? Can you help?
I can not down load adobe for facebook not matter how many time I do it.

Hello, I searched the posts and do not see anyone else with the problem of sharing port 80 with basic web site services. Maybe no one is trying to run FMS and IIS at the same time? I installed 3.5 accepting the defaults and not installing Apache since I serve up web sites on my Windows 2003 server using IIS. After installing FMS I was able to open the administration area and view the video samples locally so it looked like a successful install. But on further review, none of my websites were being served up. I expect there is a conflict with port 80 and IIS wanting it as well as FMS server wanting the same port. Is it possible to have a server continue to use IIS to serve up web pages and also have FMS on the same server, serve up streaming Flash? At this point I am just using the Developmental version (no license purchased yet) of 3.5 to put up examples of what improvements can be had with the FMS. Then after getting clients interested and ready to help offset the price, move to
I have installed FMS without Apache, since I already have IIS running on my server. I have noticed that Apache seems to be the default web server to use with FMS; hence the abundance of documentation and notes Adobe has provided. However, I can't find any documentation on how to configure FMS with IIS. Is there any(documentation) from Adobe or anywhere else?I would like to be able to run both video clips (RTMP and HTTP) from the Samples section of Flash Media Server 3.5/webroot/index.html.Thanks.
I have an application with streaming live video. When this application is running in within our proxy server( where adobe media server is kept) its running fine. when client is trying to stream video from his proxy he gets repeatedly netconnection.failed status. after very long time it get connected, but streaming remains publishing to the server for few seconds, and then it get disconnected with the FMS. When it retries to connec it again gets netconnection.failed status repeatedly. I have tried with few settings like:1) httpident2 setting enabled to "true" with the FMS serverIP.2) the only file on the server supporting file to stream is main.asc, no application.xml in that folder, no allowhtmldomain.txt, no allowswfdoamin.txt file in the folder( I have tries with keeping them also.)Even same thing is happening when I am using FMLE at client side and connecting and streaming at our FMS.I am using FMS interactive server4.0.Please suggest .Thanks in advance
