Cool new features, but at what expense?

Photoshop has added some cool features over the years, but reliability isn't one of them.  They system is much more unstable that it has ever been before.  Consistent crashes, freeze-ups, etc.

Additional to @D Fosse ’s advice can you pinpoint any specific functionality or scenarios in the context of which the crashes occur?

Crashing is nearly always GPU-related. With every new release, Photoshop relies increasingly on the GPU, so a system that worked well previously may no longer be adequate as time goes by. That's just a general observation, I don't know anything about your system.

If you post the full Help > System Info, we may be able to spot something.

Photoshop itself is rock solid, I haven't seen a crash in many years. And I use it professionally, 8 hours a day. There are small problems in the software, but crashing isn't one of them.
