Photoshop Crashing and freezing on launch
This has been going on now for probably 2 years, across multiple versions of Photoshop and also with new installs of Windows 10, and Windows 11. After my PC has been sitting for awhile or sleeping, the first time I try to opan any image in Photoshop, it freezes. The whole PC freezes. It stays frozen for about 10 or 15 seconds, then Photoshop just closes with no kind of warning or error message and the computer starts functioning again. So the first time I start working in the morning, I expect Photoshop to freeze. Then more recently, Photoshop has began to freeze during launch. It doesn't get past the splash screen. I'm not sure but I might have a clue about why that is happening. When I look at the resource manager, Photoshop begins to capture nearly 100% of available system ram during start up. This is with the latest version of Photoshop. My PC has 32gb of ram. I managed to get Photoshop open and I changed the ram settings in Photoshop from 70% down to 35%. I think that might have helped. So it might be that my PC is no longer capable of running Photoshop well. Maybe I need to at least double my ram? I'm not ready to buy a new PC yet.
