Hi, I was wondering if there's been a solution for when saving the file. I downloaded the plugin but for some reason when I click on "Simulate Error" on the User Diagnostic plugin I also get an error "Could not complete your request because of a program error". So I can't even get the error log at this point.

I have tried every solution mentioned in this thread without any luck. Now one thing I can say is that the problem does not happen when saving to the desktop. I am trying to save to a shared drive as I always have but seems like the problem arisen with this latter versions.

Thank you for any help

Hey. I'm having the same error as a lot is having here. Photoshop has been unusable for a few weeks now. I've troubleshoted tirelessly.

I am also following the instructions for the diagnostics plug-in, having pasted the relevant folder into plugins, yet no information is copied to the clipboard at any point. Running latest version.

I am not able to open files, or even close photoshop itself, with the error message:

couldnot complete your request because of a program error.

Help please?

I had the same issue. I "solved" it by choosing "Reset preferences on exit". The problem is gone for now and Photoshop works normally. Nevertheless, i have no idea wat caused the error. It was there out of the blue (days after upgrading to the most recent version) and i can't remember adding any plugins or anything else.

Where did you find the "reset preferences on exit" button?

Thanks

Hi,

Getting a program error when trying to change font to Apple Color Emojis. I installed the plug in, and followed instructions above, but nothing is copied to my clipboard, and program error persists.

Please help!

I installed the user-diagnostics and it works. But nothing is in the Clipboard.

When I save a file first time everything is fine.

When I try to save it again, the error occours (see my screenshot).

I can save it with a new name, but not with the same name.

open photoshop.

try to open file -> program error.

try to close photoshop -> program error.

click the 'simulate error' button in the plugin -> program error.

seems it was able to copy something to the clipboard though.

Been having this issue for over a year. my temporary solution is to delete my preferences folder, open photoshop, close photoshop, drag some of my old preferences back (brushes, workspaces), open photoshop, solved. But need to repeat these steps at least once a month, sometimes multiple times a week.

I am using a 2019 MacBook Pro with Big Sur with the latest version of Photoshop

I am also having trouble with the "Could not complete your request because of a probram error." As others have mentioned, when using the Program Error Diagnostic Plug-In, nothing is coppied to my clipboard. In fact, previous clipboad data is still there from other tasks.

I found a "fix" that allowed me to open file in Photoshop by unlciking "Use Graphics Processor" in the "performance" section of preferences. But, when I tried to use the "Fill" tool, I got another "Could not complete your request because of a program error," only this time clicking "OK" didn't close the error message, and I had to Force Quit Photoshop. When I tried it again, and the error message occured, I discovered that clicking inside the error message would dulplicate the message. Oddly, I am unable to save my scrneenshot, because Photoshop is only allowing me to save as a TIFF, PSD, or Large Document Format.

Currently, I am unable to use this version of Photoshop and am ready to revert to an older version.

Thanks!
