cloud not wamted

I am running Windows 11 with all updates applied.

I am using Adobe Photosop Elements 2025.

I have used Adobe Photoshop Elements for many years. All of a sudden the software is putting my photos on the cloud. I do not want my photos on the cloud. How do I turn this off?

Also if I delete photos from the cloud will it also delete them from the local drive where I store all my 10,000+ photos?

Any and all help in this matter is appreciated.

This part is just about your cloud files:

With the 2GB free cloud storage you only have a few hundred, maybe about a thousand
 images online.

ALSO:  I have multiple copies of all my photos on different hard drives- something for you to consider.

Deleting photos from Adobe's cloud storage, like the Creative Cloud, will also remove them from your local Adobe Organizer's synced collections, but not necessarily from your local storage if they were originally imported there. If the photos were only synced to the cloud, deleting them from the cloud will remove them from your local Organizer as well.

Elaboration:
  • When you sync photos to the Adobe cloud, they are typically added to "All Synced Photographs" in Lightroom and can be organized into synced collections. If you delete from the cloud, these synced collections will also be affected.

  • Local Storage:
If you imported photos directly into your Adobe Organizer from your local drive (e.g., importing from a folder on your computer), those photos will remain on your local drive even if you delete them from the cloud.

Photoshop Elements does not automatically put your images on the cloud. While it offers cloud storage options, it's not enabled by default. You have to manually choose to sync your catalog files or media to the Adobe cloud. The Organizer in Elements can also be used to manage photos stored on your local hard drive or external drives.

Do this with the Organizer preference file:

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Cloud Sync Options:
Photoshop Elements allows you to sync your catalog files and media (photos and videos) to the Adobe cloud. This provides a backup and allows access from different devices.

  • Manual Activation:
The cloud sync feature is not enabled by default. You need to enable it during the initial setup of a new catalog or when converting from an older version.

  • Local Storage:
Photoshop Elements also allows you to store your photos and projects locally on your hard drive or external drives.

  • Organizer:
The Organizer in Photoshop Elements helps you manage and organize your photos, regardless of their storage location. It can catalog files stored on your hard drive, external drives, or even those synced to the cloud.

  • Saving to the Cloud:
When saving a new file or using "Save As," you have the option to choose between saving to your computer or to the cloud. The "Save As" screen allows you to set a default save location.

  • Accessing Cloud Files:
If you choose to save files to the cloud, you can access them from any device where you are logged into your Adobe account and have access to Photoshop Elements.
