Adobe Elements Organizer 2024
Version 24.0 (20230922.Git.master.31442ae)

Yes, the recent update has added the web app for German, French and Japanese users.  But we have seen reports of some new problems for those users after the update.

I have reported this problem to Adobe.  Since, autosynch is only supposed to work for English versions, I doubt whether that will change in the foreseeable future. It is unfortunate that the messaging and UI have not addressed the limitations of the Elements Web (Beta).

OK, that simply means for me that I cannot use the organizer as long as I dont want to sync with Adobe-Cloud.

It's not your fault!

Greg, thank you for your interest into this problem and for trying to help - very good job!

Regards

Johannes

According to this Adobe HelpX article, the Autosync is only available in the English version.

If Autosync is only available in the English version I cannot understand what goes on when I try to create a new catalog:

I get a message telling me that the current catalog and the mediafiles referenced will be uploaded to Adobe, and I have to confirm this.

Further there is still the UI bug with Preferences as I described earlier.

Correction: The message appears when I change to another catalog (not when creating catalog) - sorry.

Here is the message I get (sorry but it is in german language):

What happens if you press Ctrl+K and then the down arrow key several times?  What should happen is that the Organizer's Preferences dialog opens and you can move between the tabs until you reach the Auto synch tab.

Auto-synch should be turned off by default for a new catalog.  However, any images that have previously been uploaded to the Elements Cloud/Web will appear automatically in a new catalog.  These can be filtered from view using the Local Media Only option from the Filter dropdown menu:

Since there appears to be a bug in the German language UI, I will report it to Adobe.  But it would be helpful if you coud give some further information:

  • What size and resolution is your monitor?
  • Is the display setting set to the recommended pixel resolution in Windows?
  • Does it make any difference if you change the Windows UI scaling?

>>>What happens if you press Ctrl+K and then the down arrow key several times?  What should happen is that the Organizer's Preferences dialog opens and you can move between the tabs until you reach the Auto synch tab.<<<

Ctrl+K: The Preferences dialog opens, on the left side the list with 12 categories is displayed - still NO Auto-sync categorie listed.

Down arrow key: Works just normally and displays one category after the other. When it comes down to the 11th and 12th category the same problem is there compared to directly clicking this categories (behaviour as described in my last posting).

Further information

Monitor size:   24" BenQ

Monitor resolution: 3840x2160 (recommended)

Windows UI scaling: 200% (recommended)

I also tested 100% (which is not really usable because of very small text etc.) but the problem with Auto-sync missing in preferences is still the same. So, changing Windows UI scaling makes NO difference.

Thank you for your help

@JohannesHH, if you click lower down in the menu, perhaps the correct tab will open up and you will be able to turn off auto synching.  Did you try my suggestion of changing the size of the program window?

Hi Greg!

Thank you for trying to help!

Yes, I changed the size of the program window but that did not change anything.

I try to give more detailed info what happens:

- I click on menu "Edit" at the top of the window -> the edit menu opens

- Last entry in edit menu is "Settings..."

- I position the mouse cursor over "Settings...", no click

- A flyout-menu opens with 13 entries

- I click on any entry -> a new window "Settings" opens

- Within this new window there is a list of entries on the left side to choose from, that is nearly the same as in the fly-out menu with one difference: Only 12 entries here, "Auto Sync Settings..." is not there.

- With first 10 entries ("Common" - "Media Analyze") everything OK

- Click Entry 11 "Application-Update" -> The headline on the right shows "Automatic Sync Settings...", but the data below the headline bgelongs to "Application-Update"

- Click Entry 12 "Country/Region" -> The headline on the right shows "Application-Update", but the data below the headline belongs to "Country/Region".

I hope I could make it clear what happens. The picture at the top of this thread shows exactly this situation.

I could live with the wrong headlines, but I really need the possibility to create catalogs without syncing them to the Adobe cloud.

New forum users are not able to modify their posts.

All I can suggest is that you reduce the size of the Elements program window so that it doesn't fill the screen and occupies a more standard 16:9 aspect ratio.  Also make sure that the Windows screen resolution is set to the recommended ratio.  I don't know if this will help.

English / Englisch (Translated from German into English with the support of DeepL):

Actually, I just wanted to make the developers aware of this strange behavior. I didn't expect there to be a solution for this yet.

With every post I received a personal e-mail with the note that I can also contact the support directly by e-mail. Is this normal?

Has anyone else observed this strange behavior?

Hallo Community!

Johannes

I'm not exactly sure what problem you are describing.  Are you saying that if you click on one of the options in the Preferences dialog, a different tab is selected?  If that is the case, what is the size of your monitor?  And have you changed the UI scaling in Windows?

If the problem is something else, please be more specific and, if possible, give us some screenshots.

Is it actually possible to modify a post after it has been published?

Yes, a different tab is selected.

My monitor has a size of 31.5" and a resolution of 4K.

And yes, i changed the UI scaling from 150% to 100%.

I actually wanted to upload a composite screenshot in my post. But that didn't work.
I have now added it instead.
