Audio Glitch in The New Premiere Pro 2025 Update

Hello,

This morning, Adobe automatically updated my Premiere Pro to its newest version (PP 25.0) and I've encountered an audio glitch that's been happening. At first, I thought my headphones were causing the problem, but in Premiere's audio hardware settings - everything is routed to the correct input/output.

The Problem: When I click on the timeline and press play on my video clip with edited audio, the quality is lost compared to what it should sound like. Then when I tested another audio source (from Spotify or a YouTube video in Chrome) the same poor quality is reflecting all of my audio sources on my computer.

I did another test of restarting Premiere Pro, unplugging and plugging my headphones back into my computer, and I got the same result.

Looking for some guidance to see if anyone else has this problem but I'm going to check with my IT department to see if they have any ideas on how to resolve this.

Thank you,

Basic info from Guidelines:

- Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 (v 25.0)

- MacBook Pro 2023 - Apple M2 Max

- macOS Sequoia Version 15.0.1

Hi @Bryan29268467u7nz

This is important to figure out I know , especially since audio is half of your production value to quality products. So forgive me for trying out everything possible, even the basic stuff. Is the audio hardware changing on your computer when you play back from Premiere? It would'nt happen to be something like your computer internal audio card overriding a better audio card device you have been using?

Thank you

Ian

Update 10/28/24:

To answer your question @R Neil Haugen, I do believe Premiere was causing this problem at the beginning.

The first initial sign was when I dragged and imported a previously exported video clip into the timeline for playback. The audio quality was so low-grade, it didn't make any sense because I usually clean up any audio for a video in Audition beforehand and import that audio back into the timeline for the final product. Since I was hearing the low-quailty audio, I doubled check another source on my Macbook by playing a song from Spotify, and that audio quality sounded the same from what Premiere was producing.

After I heard that in my headphones, I closed down everything and restarted my computer. I tried to recreate the problem by playing a song from Spotify first, before playing anything imported into the timeline in Premiere and everything sounded fine. Once I pressed play in the timeline, the low-grade audio playback began once again, also reflecting Spotify as well.

I apologize for the long response, and hopefully this gives some better context to what I was explaining in my initial message.

Thank you,

Bryan

So you think Premiere is messing up all the audio on your machine? I'm trying to puzzle out specifically what you are getting.
