Error: Project folder not writeable
Full message: “Project folder not writeable: This location is write-protected or unavailable. Please choose another location for your project.”
Application: Adobe Premiere Pro, Version 24.3.0 (Build 59).
Computer: Macbook Pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9; Graphics = AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB; Memory: 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4; macOS = Sonoma 14.4.1. I have ample free disk space available. Photoshop works normally.
When I try to create a new project, I get the error quoted above and cannot proceed. I first encountered the problem in April 2024, and last successfully used Premiere a few months ago.
I have set Apple > Privacy and Security > Files and Folder > Adobe Premiere Pro 2024. It has file permissions for Desktop Folder, Documents Folder, Download Folder, and iCloud drive. This is identical to my settings for Photoshop.
I also tried setting Apple > Privacy and Security > Full Disk Access.
I also tried running Premiere from my Administrator account.
I also tried reinstalling the program.
None of these efforts prevented me from getting the error listed above.
Perhaps I overlooked guidance on Adobe Community. If so, please share a link if a solution to this problem has been posted.
I’d appreciate suggestions for how to resolve this problem.
