How to Fix Playhead starting at the beginning of the Timeline Each Time I import Footage?

I read your note. You say that you are experiencing this with importing footage? I'm guessing you are not talking about importing but about editing the clip into the timeline. Importing refers to footage you bring into the Project panel when first setting up a project, which is different. I think I understand your issue if that is the case.  

You say that each time you edit footage into the Timeline the playhead returns to the beginning of the sequence? Are you dragging the footage in from the Project panel, the Source Monitor, or directly via Finder/Explorer? Typically, the playhead doesn't move when dragging clips as an Insert or Overwrite edit from these locations. If you want the playhead to advance after each edit try using the Insert or Overwrite buttons or shortcuts from the Source Monitor or Project panel.
