Project Appears to be Damaged, Cannot be Opened

Hi, I'm new to using Premiere Pro CC and I'm kind of facing a difficult situation on importing a recorded video to the Adobe app. My video was recorded on an Elgato Game Capture and it gave me a TS File of a one hour video. As I went straight to the app, I clicked on New Project to begin editing, I get this message as I dragged in my video file "Project appears to be damaged. File cannot be opened."

I tried to find some way to fix the issue, but to no avail. If there's any solution to the problem, like ways to change the video file or a shorter cut to edit a video that is under a TS File, please let me know. I'll be looking for any feedback that could assist me in my situation.

Thank you.

Correct answer Ann Bens

Premiere does not support TS files.

Might want to change the extension to mpg or convert with Handbrake.

Same happened to me an hour ago, my 3 hours work gone when my pc suddenly turned off.

But fortunately got the data back from 2nd last saved point. In the folder where all projects are saved, you shall find " Adobe premiere pro Auto-Save " folder. Here you can recover the best possible data. I know it's not complete data, but it's better than having nothing.

I fixed auto save at 5mins and would suggest you to do same.

I have a sort of similar situation occurring. I've spent about 2 months working on this edit. Lots of AE work/Frame by frame animations. And also had tons of AU projects all saved under the same C drive that this was saved under.  I accidentally deleted my WHOLE C DRIVE in command prompt and used recovery Data software to get back files, But they are all scattered and in no particular order. Is this why my Premiere projects/ premiere auto saves are all now not working? Are they currupt? And If so how can I salvage them if there is a way that anyone knows of. I did not back up on any other clouds or drives. Last salvageable version of the program I have is from January, and it would not even be worth it to put that much work back in. But this project is very important to me. Please help. ....:/

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing - For Windows Internet Explorer press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard, and then do CTRL-V to paste the screen print from the clipboard into a forum message

Free programs to get file information for PC/Mac http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

- when you analyze your file in MediaInfo and post a screen shot in the forum, do so in TREE view

.

Does your video use a Variable Frame Rate? See https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1110005

If yes, use https://handbrake.fr/ open source transcoder/converter to convert to Constant Frame Rate
